AI is rapidly transforming security. AI systems increasingly interact with sensitive data, execute code, invoke tools, and take actions across complex environments, creating fundamentally new security challenges.

At the same time, AI offers new opportunities to discover vulnerabilities, understand attacks, and build defenses.

Our team is building a research agenda at the intersection of Security and AI, focused on two complementary directions: securing AI systems and using AI to advance security.

Our work spans protecting sensitive data across AI pipelines, securing agentic and autonomous systems, developing principled defenses against emerging attacks, and using AI to discover vulnerabilities and understand complex attack surfaces.

As a Senior Researcher – Security and AI, you will pursue significant,



long-term research while having opportunities to translate advances into systems deployed at Microsoft scale.

You will collaborate across MSR India, Microsoft Research worldwide, and Microsoft product groups.

We are looking for researchers with robust backgrounds in security, privacy, cryptography, systems, or AI/ML, a strong research track record, and a passion for tackling emerging security problems in AI and agentic systems.

Ideal candidates combine scientific rigor with systems thinking, can turn ideas into working prototypes, thrive in interdisciplinary collaborations, and take ownership of complex research problems.
