Job Summary

Work as Scientific Officer or technical staff in Blood Centre

Job Profile

1. Bleeding of donors.
2. Preparing components.
3. Take over from previous technician.
4. Check blood stock
5. Reagent stock
6. Completion of registers
7. Check and Record temperature of all refrigerators, deep freezers, platelet agitator and incubator.
8. Prepare pooled cell as per lab manual.
9. Testing of blood bags for HIV, HbsAg, HCV, VDRL and Malarial Parasites as per lab manual.
10. Titer of recent Anti-sera.
11. Grouping. Cross matching
12. Issuing blood bags as per request received.
13. Discard of pilot tubes and patient sample after 7 days.
14. Dispose of TTD positive bags as per SOP.
15. File all the requisitions received.

Qualification

1. Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or Transfusion

Medicine or Blood Bank Technology after 10+2

2. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (M.L.T.) or Blood Bank Technology
3. B.Sc. in Hematology and Transfusion Medicine
4. M.Sc. in Transfusion Medicine
5.



Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (PGDMLT) / Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science (PGDMLS)

Experience

6. Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or Transfusion

Medicine or Blood Bank Technology after 10+2 with one year

experience in the testing of blood and/or its components in licensed

Blood centre

7. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (M.L.T.) or Blood Bank Technology with six month’s experience in the testing of blood and/or its components in licensed Blood centre; or
8. B.Sc. in Hematology and Transfusion Medicine with six month’s experience in the testing of blood and/or its components in licensed Blood centre
9. M.Sc. in Transfusion Medicine with six month’s experience in the

testing of blood and/or its components in licensed Blood Centre; or

10. Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (PGDMLT) / Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science (PGDMLS) with six month’s experience in the testing of blood and/or its components in licensed Blood Centre.”
11. FDA approval Mandatory.

Reporting

In charge Blood Centre, Medical Officer Blood Centre, Quality Manager Blood Centre, Technical Supervisor.
