About the role
Certivo is an AI-native compliance platform for regulated supply chains. Our software reads a customer's engineering evidence, checks it against the rules of a regulation or standard, and shows what is covered and what is missing. Our customers are suppliers to automotive, industrial and medical device companies, and we deliver with partners such as global system integrators. We are hiring our first Automotive Compliance Engineer. You will be the person who takes an automotive software supplier from "we think we are compliant" to "here is the evidence", using the Certivo platform as your main tool. The first assignments are Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) gap analyses and gap closure for vehicle software companies. Over time the role grows into functional safety, cybersecurity, and the other requirements that automotive OEMs put on their suppliers, all on the same platform. This is a hands-on role. You will sit with engineering teams, read their requirements, designs and test records, rate where they stand, and coach them on what to fix. You will also shape how Certivo encodes automotive standards, so each engagement makes the platform better at the next one. What you will do In your first year: ASPICE
• Plan and run ASPICE 4.1 gap analyses for vehicle software suppliers: kickoff, evidence review, interviews with process owners, readiness ratings per process, and a findings readout.
• Write gap analysis reports that engineering leaders can act on: what the finding is, the evidence behind it, what it takes to close it, and how long.
• Lead gap closure. Bring templates for project plans, configuration management, quality assurance and test documentation, coach the customer's team to use them, and check the work before an assessor sees it.
• Prepare customers for formal assessments and OEM supplier reviews (for example, a Volkswagen Software Potential Analysis). Run mock assessments and build the evidence pack.
• Work with independent intacs-certified assessors on formal ASPICE assessments. As the role grows: the rest of automotive compliance
• Functional safety: ISO 26262 work products, safety cases and the overlap with ASPICE evidence.
• Cybersecurity: ISO/SAE 21434 and ASPICE for Cybersecurity, including TARA review and cybersecurity cases.
• Machine learning and driver assistance: ASPICE MLE processes,
ISO 21448 (SOTIF) and ISO/PAS 8800.
• OEM and industry
requirements:
TISAX, UNECE R155 and R156, and customer-specific supplier requirements.
• Advise customers on which regulations and standards they should be tracking for their products. Always: make the platform better
• Use the Certivo platform as your working tool on every engagement. Connect it to the customer's tools (Jira, Jama, Confluence, Git, Polarion, Codebeamer), review what it extracts, and correct it where it is wrong.
• Work with our product and regulations team to encode standards as frameworks: rules, evidence types, rating logic and report formats. Your field experience decides what we build next.
• Keep our automotive frameworks current as standards change (for example, new PAM releases and VDA guidelines). What we are looking for You must have
• 5 or more years in automotive embedded or vehicle software development, process quality, or supplier quality.
• Hands-on ASPICE
experience:
you have prepared a team for an assessment, run a gap analysis, or worked as a process owner in an ASPICE Level 2 or higher organization. You know the PAM 4.0 or 4.1 process areas and the capability levels in practice, not just on paper.
• Direct experience with at least two of: project management (MAN.3), configuration management (SUP.8), quality assurance (SUP.1), software requirements and architecture (SWE.1 to SWE.3), software testing (SWE.4 to SWE.6).
• You can read engineering evidence yourself: requirements in Jama or Polarion, tickets in Jira, code and test results in Git and CI systems.
• You write clearly. Your findings, reports and plans will be read by engineering leaders and by OEM reviewers.
• You are comfortable in front of a customer: running interviews, giving difficult feedback kindly, and holding a team to a plan.
• Fluent English. Able to travel to customer sites for one to two weeks at a time. It helps if you have
• intacs Provisional or Competent Assessor certification, or the intention to get it (we will sponsor it).
• Experience with OEM supplier reviews or sourcing audits, especially with German or Korean OEMs.
• Working knowledge of ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434 or TISAX.
• Experience with machine learning in vehicle software, or with ADAS systems.
• German, Korean, Mandarin or Japanese.
• Experience with compliance or ALM tooling and an interest in how AI changes this work. You will do well here if you
• Prefer evidence to opinions, and say what you found even when it is not what people hoped.
• Like building the method, not just following one. Our frameworks and templates are yours to improve.
• Are happy working with a small team across time zones and a partner's delivery team, with a lot of autonomy and no one looking over your shoulder. Location, travel and how we work
•
Location:
open. Our customers for this role are in North America, Europe and Asia, so we are considering candidates in India, Germany and the rest of Europe, Korea, Japan and the United States. Tell us where you are and what travel works for you.
• Travel: expect to be on a customer site for the start and end of each engagement, usually one to two weeks at a time, with work from home in between. Some engagements are in Korea, Shanghai or Germany.
• Reporting line: you report to the CEO and work closely with our regulations and product team and with our delivery partners' consultants.
• Team: Certivo is a small, early-stage company headquartered in Seattle. You will be our first automotive specialist, with the room and the responsibility that comes with that.
• Compensation: [salary range, by location] plus [equity / bonus]. We sponsor relevant certifications, including intacs assessor training.
How to apply
Send a short note and your CV to [
[email protected]]. Tell us about one ASPICE assessment or gap analysis you worked on: what the team's weakest process was, what you did about it, and what the assessor said at the end. We read every application and reply to all of them. Certivo is an equal opportunity employer. We hire on skill and judgment, and we welcome applications from anyone who can do this work well.
