I. Position Summary and Primary Responsibilities
- Engineering, Checking, detailing and drafting of Grating drawings
- Review, Study structural design drawings and other inputs to identify extent / scope
- Identify engineering questions / issues and communicate with the Engineer / Fabricator
- Work with the team manager / leader to accomplish the work to meet departmental productivity and quality goals.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned II. Basic Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors in Civil OR Mechanical Engineering
- 2
- 6 years Overall experience in Engineering / Checking / detailing (Industrial buildings, detailing of Stairs and handrails, platforms is preferred). AISC background is a must.
- Min. 3 years experience in checking Shop drawings, 3D models, etc.
- Understanding of Technical codes AISC, NISD practices, OSHA regulations is a must. III. Preferred Qualifications A. Interpersonal Skills
- Ability to communicate (written & oral) in English
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Ability to produce details with nil / minimal checking required
- Ability to work in the engineering group with minimal guidance




- Ability to complete assigned activities in the schedule allotted
- Good analytical skills and should be detail oriented B. Technical / Software application Skills
- Experience in SDS2 or Tekla Structures (X-Steel)
- Experience with Microstation (Preferable but not compulsory) IV. Essential functions
- The ability to predictably and regularly attend work and to be punctual
- The ability to read and understand documents & Structural design drawings
- The ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and/or coworkers
- The ability to perform several tasks at once
- The ability to follow direction or instruction
- The ability to follow standard operating procedures
- Create files, folders and perform other document control duties as necessary
