In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating both conventional Lathe and Milling machines to produce precision automotive components according to engineering drawings, process sheets, and tight tolerance specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Machine Operation & Setup:
- Set up, adjust, and operate conventional Lathe machines (turning, facing, grooving, threading, boring) and Milling machines (facing, slotting, drilling, keyway cutting).
- Mount cutting tools, fixtures, chucks, vices, and workpieces securely onto machine tables and spindles.
- Drawing & Blueprint Reading:
- Read and interpret 2D mechanical engineering drawings, process sheets, and GD&T; symbols to determine correct machining steps, speeds, feeds, and tool selection.
- Precision Inspection:
- Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, and Bore Gauges to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Perform first-piece and in-process quality checks to eliminate defects during batch production.
- Tooling & Material Handling:
- Select proper cutting tools,



tool bits, end mills, inserts, and coolants based on material specs (steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass).
- Adjust cutting speeds, feed rates, and depth of cut to optimize machining cycles and maintain tool life.
- Machine Maintenance & Shop-Floor Discipline:
- Perform daily routine machine upkeep (lubrication, checking oil and coolant levels, cleaning metal chips).
- Maintain a protected, clean, and organized workstation following workplace safety and 5S standards. Requirements &

Qualifications:

Education:
ITI (Turner / Machinist / Fitter) or 10th/12th Pass with relevant practical machining experience.

Experience:
1 to 5 years of hands-on experience operating conventional Lathe and Milling machines in an automotive component or machinery parts manufacturing unit. *(Freshers with solid ITI practical training are also welcome to apply).
