1. Project Planning & Scheduling

- Develop comprehensive project schedules using software tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Prepare baseline programs, and update and maintain project schedules throughout the lifecycle.
- Define project milestones, key deliverables, and critical path activities.
- Monitor and track progress against the plan and identify any delays or bottlenecks.

2. Resource Planning
- Coordinate with project teams to estimate resource requirements (manpower, materials, equipment).
- Ensure the availability of resources as per the project plan.
- Forecast potential shortages or surpluses and suggest mitigation strategies.

3. Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to align on planning objectives and progress.
- Chair or participate in planning and coordination meetings, ensuring action points are tracked and executed.
- Provide clear planning deliverables to execution and procurement teams.

4. Delay Analysis & Mitigation
- Identify risks or delays early and assess their impact on timelines and project cost.
- Prepare recovery plans and advise corrective actions.
- Maintain proper documentation for Extension of Time (EOT) claims or contractual notices related to delays.

Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare periodic progress reports (daily/weekly/monthly) for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain updated planning logs, S-curves, histograms, and progress charts.
- Provide inputs for cost forecasting and cash flow based on the schedule.

6. Budgeting & Cost Control (Support Role)
- Work closely with the cost control team to align the schedule with the budget.
- Assist in tracking project costs against planned budgets.

7. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure that planning and scheduling practices adhere to company standards and contractual obligations.
- Support audits and compliance checks related to planning documentation.

Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s is a plus).
- 15–18 years of experience in construction planning, preferably in large infrastructure or industrial projects.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Valuable understanding of project management principles, contract management, and construction methodologies.
