Role Description This is a full time, on-site role for a Chinese Chef based at The Spoons in Deoria. The Chinese Chef will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of Chinese dishes, ensuring flavor, texture, and presentation meet restaurant standards. Daily tasks include menu execution during service, mise en place, ingredient preparation, and maintaining a clean, organized workstation. The role involves monitoring food quality, portion control, and adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations. The Chinese Chef will collaborate with the kitchen team, assist in menu planning and specials, manage inventory for relevant ingredients,



and support training of junior staff in Chinese cuisine techniques.
Qualifications
Solid practical skills in Chinese cooking techniques, including stir-frying, steaming, deep-frying, and wok handling.
Knowledge of Chinese ingredients, sauces, seasonings, and regional styles (e.g., Sichuan, Cantonese, Hunan) to prepare authentic and consistent dishes.
Proficiency in kitchen operations, including food safety, hygiene practices, portion control, and time management during busy service periods.
Ability to work collaboratively in a quick-paced kitchen environment, with good communication skills and a focus on teamwork and professionalism.
Experience in restaurant or hotel kitchens, preferably in a dedicated Chinese cuisine role; formal culinary training or certification is an advantage.
Capability to plan and organize prep work, manage ingredient inventory for Chinese dishes, and contribute ideas for menu development and specials.
Commitment to reliability, punctuality, and maintaining high standards of quality, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
