Job Title: Mechanisation Technician

Job Purpose:
To maintain, repair, inspect, and operate mechanical machinery and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation with minimum downtime.

Key Responsibilities
Inspect, service, maintain, and repair mechanised equipment and machinery.
Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out necessary repairs.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
Maintain engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, pumps, and other mechanical components.
Conduct regular equipment inspections and identify potential problems before breakdowns occur.
Install, adjust, and test mechanical components and machinery.
Use workshop tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic equipment safely.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, spare parts, and equipment usage.
Ensure machinery complies with operational and safety requirements.
Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, and modifications.
Liaise with operators and supervisors to identify equipment problems.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop and working environment.
Follow company procedures, technical manuals,



and occupational health and safety regulations.

Required Skills and Competencies
Solid mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, engines, and mechanical systems.
Ability to read technical drawings and equipment manuals.
Positive practical and hands-on mechanical skills.
Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic systems.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Valuable communication and teamwork skills.
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Typical Qualifications
Diploma, certificate, or trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Mechanisation, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or a related field.
Relevant practical/workshop experience is advantageous.
Appropriate machinery or equipment operating certifications may be required depending on the workplace.
