Job Title: U.S. Tax Preparer (Remote India)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced U.S. Tax Preparer based in India to support the preparation and filing of U.S. federal tax returns. This role requires hands-on experience with U.S. tax forms, not just theoretical knowledge.

You will work closely with a U.S.-based CPA and handle individual and business tax returns with accuracy, confidentiality, and speed.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review U.S. federal tax returns, including:
Form 1040 (Individuals)
Form 1120 / 1120S (C-Corporations & S-Corporations)
Form 1065 (Partnerships)
Prepare supporting schedules (Schedule C, E, K-1s, depreciation, etc.)
Organize and review client financial documents (W-2s, 1099s, bank statements)
Reconcile books to tax returns where needed
Ensure compliance with current IRS rules and deadlines
Communicate clearly with the U.S. team regarding questions, missing data, or issues
Maintain strict data security and confidentiality

Required Qualifications
2+ years of hands-on experience preparing U.S. tax returns
Strong working knowledge of:
Form 1040, 1120, and 1065




Basic U.S. tax concepts (deductions, credits, depreciation, pass-through income)
Experience using U.S. tax software such as:
Drake, UltraTax, ProConnect, Lacerte, TaxSlayer Pro, or similar
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to meet tight deadlines during tax season
Robust written and verbal English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
Experience working with a U.S. CPA firm
Familiarity with multi-state returns
Knowledge of 1099 preparation and filing
Background in accounting or finance (CA, CPA, EA, or equivalent)

Work Details
Location: Remote (India)
Engagement: Full time or part time (tax season support with potential long-term role)
Work Hours: Overlap with U.S. business hours preferred
