Role Description The Legal Associate will work full time on-site in Cuttack, supporting litigation and advisory work at the chamber. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting and reviewing pleadings, affidavits, written submissions, and other legal documents, and assisting in case preparation. The role involves attending court hearings, coordinating with clients and other stakeholders, and keeping track of case schedules, filings, and compliance requirements. The Legal Associate will also analyze legal issues, prepare briefs and notes for senior counsel, and contribute to strategy discussions to support effective representation.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Law,



with solid knowledge of substantive and procedural aspects relevant to litigation practice.
Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting pleadings, petitions, contracts, opinions, and correspondence.
Well-developed Analytical Skills for interpreting statutes, case law, and legal issues, and for applying legal principles to complex fact situations.
Effective Communication skills, both written and oral, for client interaction, courtroom assistance, and collaboration within the chamber.
Ability to identify, assess, and address Legal Issues across multiple practice areas in a structured and timely manner.
LL.B. (or equivalent law degree) from a recognized institution and enrollment with the Bar Council; 2 to 4 years of experience in bar practice is required.
Demonstrated experience in litigation, court procedure, and handling case files; familiarity with local courts in Cuttack is an advantage.
High level of professional integrity, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters under time constraints.
Comfort with legal research tools and basic computer literacy for document management and online filings.
