Key Responsibilities

Analyse requirements and prototypes; write test scenarios and test cases with traceability.

Test the portal end to end: login and roles, dashboard, device list and details, alerts, diagnostics, OTA updates, configuration and remote commands.

Validate data flowing from edge devices through the cloud (BigQuery, Eclipse Hono) to the UI.

Test on real hardware: switch networks, simulate offline and weak-signal conditions, and trigger reboots and OTA updates.

Build and maintain automation with Robot Framework, Python and Playwright; run regression suites in CI.

Carry out stress and performance testing of the platform.

Log reproducible defects, track them to closure and report test status to stakeholders.

Required Skills

Python: solid scripting and reusable test libraries.

Robot Framework: suites, keywords and custom Python libraries.

Playwright: UI automation for web applications.

API testing:



REST APIs with Postman or RequestsLibrary.

IoT testing: hands-on with connected devices and hardware.

Connectivity: 3G/4G, Wi-Fi, LAN and signal metrics (RSSI, RSRP, RSRQ).

Firmware: OTA updates and device configuration.

Linux: command line, SSH and log analysis.

Tools: Git, CI (Jenkins or GitLab CI), Jira.

Valuable to Have

Embedded Testing Knowledge.

Modbus, RS-485 or CAN bus.

MQTT or Eclipse Hono.

SQL / Google BigQuery.

Edge gateways (Sierra Wireless FX30, BeagleBone) and LoRa networks.

ISTQB Foundation Level certification.

Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science or IT, or MCA.

2 4 years in software or Automation /Device management testing, including at least 1 year of automation in Python and Robot Framework.
