Job Description – Tool & Die Maker

Position: Tool & Die Maker – Press Tools
Experience: 3–8 Years
Industry: Precision / Auto Components Manufacturing
Machine Exposure: Presses

Key Responsibilities
Develop, manufacture and commission Press Tools / blanking tools/dies for presses.
Read and interpret tool drawings, part drawings and specifications.
Carry out tool assembly, fitting, trial, correction and validation.
Undertake preventive and breakdown maintenance of fine blanking tools.
Identify tool wear, failure and dimensional issues and carry out necessary repair, modification and reconditioning.
Maintain tool accuracy, clearance and performance to achieve required part quality and tool life.
Coordinate with Tool Room, Production, Quality and Engineering teams for current tool development and improvements.
Maintain tool history,



repair records and documentation.
Support tool life improvement, cycle-time reduction and process improvement activities.
Ensure protected working practices and proper maintenance of tools and equipment.

Desired Skills
Hands-on experience in Press Tools / Dies/ Blanking Tools.
Valuable knowledge of progressive/compound die construction, fitting and maintenance.
Knowledge of die components, punches, inserts, guide systems, springs and tool clearances.
Ability to troubleshoot burr, dimensional variation, cracking and tool wear issues.
Knowledge of VMC, grinding, EDM/Wire Cut operations will be an advantage.
Ability to work independently on new tool development as well as tool maintenance
