About the Position

We are looking for a dedicated, well-organized, and enthusiastic School Librarian to manage our school library and encourage a strong reading culture among students. The ideal candidate should have a good command of English, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in books and children's literature.

The librarian will play an important role in developing students' reading habits, improving their vocabulary, and encouraging independent learning, in alignment with the academic environment of an ICSE school.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and maintain the school library, ensuring proper organization of books and other learning resources.
- Maintain an updated catalogue and records of books, magazines, journals, and other library materials.
- Issue and receive books while maintaining accurate records of library transactions.
- Encourage students to develop regular reading habits and explore different genres of literature.
- Guide students in selecting age-appropriate books, especially English storybooks and reference materials.
- Conduct storytelling sessions, reading activities, book reviews, and other library-related activities.
- Promote English reading, vocabulary development, and language skills among students.
- Maintain discipline and ensure a quiet, welcoming, and student-friendly library environment.




- Assist teachers in identifying suitable books and educational resources for classroom activities.
- Monitor library inventory and recommend current books and resources as required.
- Ensure that students handle books and library resources responsibly.

Eligibility & Skills Required

- Graduate in any discipline. A degree or diploma in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib) will be preferred.
- Previous experience as a school librarian will be an advantage.
- Good spoken and written English communication skills are essential.
- Strong interest in books, reading, literature, and children's education.
- Good organizational, record-keeping, and administrative skills.
- Basic computer knowledge, including MS Office and digital record management.
- Ability to interact effectively with students across different age groups.
- A pleasant personality, patience, discipline, and a proactive attitude.
