Role Description The Sous Chef is a full-time, on-site role based at ELITO CAFE in Dwarka Sec-11. This role supports the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including preparing menu items, supervising line cooks and kitchen staff, and ensuring food is cooked and presented according to established standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include organizing mise en place, monitoring food quality and portion control, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and safety, and managing inventory and stock rotation. The Sous Chef assists in menu execution, contributes to new dish ideas, and helps train and mentor junior staff.



The role also involves coordinating with the front-of-house team to ensure timely service and a smooth guest experience.
Qualifications

- Strong culinary knowledge, including basic cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably in cafés, casual dining, or similar establishments.
- Ability to supervise and train kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and maintain a positive, collaborative work atmosphere.
- Good organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple orders, peak hours, and shifting priorities.
- Understanding of inventory control, stock rotation, and basic cost awareness to minimize waste and maintain quality.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by café operations.
- Diploma or certification in culinary arts or hotel management is preferred but not mandatory; equivalent hands-on experience is highly valued.
- Skilled conduct, reliability, and a strong commitment to consistent food quality and guest satisfaction.
