About the Role We are looking for a hands-on Legal Manager to manage day-to-day legal, contractual and compliance matters supporting operations across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and India.
The role requires a commercially practical lawyer who can independently manage contracts, legal research, documentation, compliance tracking, operational claims and coordination with external counsel.
It is not a Head of Legal position, and jurisdiction-specific UAE and Saudi legal opinions will be supported by qualified local counsel.
Commercial Contracts
Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, NDAs, vendor agreements, technology agreements, service agreements, partnership agreements and other business contracts.
Review customer-facing terms, subscription conditions, cancellation and refund policies, promotional terms and other consumer documentation.
Identify contractual risks relating to liability, indemnity, insurance, data protection, intellectual property, termination, payment terms, service levels and dispute resolution.
Regulatory and Compliance Support
Research and monitor laws and regulations relevant to business activities across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and India.
Support management in assessing regulatory requirements relating to mobility, transport, consumer protection, employment, outsourcing, digital services and data protection.
Coordinate with external legal counsel in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and India, prepare clear instructions and convert external advice into actionable recommendations.
Maintain a country-wise compliance calendar, licence tracker, legal risk register and regulatory documentation repository.
Support legal reviews for new services, partnerships, product features, market launches and operational changes.
Assist with responses to regulators, authorities and formal legal notices in coordination with external counsel.
Operational Claims and Disputes
Support the handling of customer complaints, accidents, vehicle-damage claims, insurance matters, partner breaches, employee disputes and other operational incidents.
Draft and respond to legal notices, settlement correspondence,
breach notices and other dispute-related communications.
Coordinate with operations, insurance providers, external counsel and other stakeholders to resolve matters efficiently.
Maintain proper records of disputes, claims, settlements and ongoing legal exposure.
Support corporate governance requirements, including resolutions, signing authorities, corporate records, intercompany agreements and statutory documentation.
Assist with employment agreements, confidentiality obligations, intellectual-property assignments, employee policies, disciplinary matters and terminations.
Support HR with workplace investigations and sensitive employee matters where legal review is required.
Coordinate statutory and corporate compliance for India operations with company secretarial, tax and external legal advisers.
Data Protection, Technology and Intellectual Property
Review privacy policies, data-processing agreements, technology contracts and vendor data-protection terms.
Support compliance relating to customer, employee and partner data, including location information, call recordings, identity documents and cross-border data access.
Coordinate with technology and information-security teams on data incidents, vendor risk and privacy requirements.
Protect intellectual property through appropriate contractual provisions, employee and contractor assignments, confidentiality controls and trademark coordination.
Support legal due diligence, document collection, data-room management and responses to investor legal queries.
Assist external counsel and management with financing documents, investment transactions, corporate restructuring and other strategic matters.
Track post-transaction obligations, approvals, reporting requirements and contractual commitments.
Legal Operations
Own the contract repository and ensure executed agreements, amendments and supporting documents are properly maintained.
Track contract renewals, notice periods, expiry dates, commercial commitments and compliance obligations.
Develop practical legal templates, internal policies, approval workflows and documentation standards.
Maintain visibility on pending contracts, claims, legal notices, regulatory matters and external-counsel assignments.
Use appropriate contract-management and productivity tools to improve turnaround time and reduce manual work.
Bachelor's degree in Law and enrolment with a recognised Bar Council in India.
Approximately 5 to 8 years of post-qualification legal experience.
Meaningful in-house experience, preferably within a startup, technology-enabled business, marketplace, logistics, mobility, fintech or consumer-services company.
Strong experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
Working knowledge of Indian corporate, commercial, employment, consumer and data-protection laws.
Exposure to operational disputes, insurance claims, customer complaints, employment matters or regulatory compliance.
Experience supporting international or cross-border business operations is preferred.
UAE or Saudi legal exposure is advantageous but not mandatory.
Ability to conduct structured legal research and work effectively with jurisdiction-specific external counsel.
Strong commercial judgment and the ability to distinguish material legal risks from manageable business risks.
Explicit written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to explain legal issues to non-legal stakeholders.
Commercial contracts are completed accurately and within agreed timelines.
Legal risks are identified early and communicated clearly.
Agreements, renewals, claims and compliance obligations are properly tracked.
Management receives practical recommendations, not only summaries of the law.
Legal processes become faster, more consistent and easier for business teams to use.
