Golang Backend Engineer | Golang | Microservices | GCP | Kubernetes

We are looking for an experienced Golang Engineer to design, develop and maintain scalable, reliable and high-performance backend products and services. The role requires strong hands-on experience in Golang, SQL/RDBMS, REST APIs and microservices, along with exposure to cloud-native technologies.

The engineer will work in a product-focused Agile/Scrum environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, product and DevOps. The technology landscape includes Google Spanner, GCP, Kubernetes, Kafka/Pub/Sub, CI/CD, Datadog, Postman, K6 and SonarQube. The role also involves modern development practices using LLMs and agentic workflows within the SDLC.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain backend product features and services using Golang.
- Develop scalable, reliable and high-performance REST APIs and microservices.
- Design and optimize database structures and write efficient SQL queries.
- Work with Google Spanner while maintaining data integrity and application performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define technical/service specifications.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, scalability and performance of backend services.
- Implement and support monitoring, logging and analytics for application performance and service health.
- Work closely with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation and Infrastructure as Code.
- Work with cloud-native technologies including GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm and Skaffold.
- Contribute to event-driven architectures using technologies such as Kafka and Pub/Sub.




- Troubleshoot and provide technical support for production issues.
- Maintain appropriate technical and system documentation.
- Provide effort estimates for upcoming development activities and communicate technical solutions effectively.
- Participate in code quality, testing and QA processes.
- Work within an Agile/Scrum product team to deliver features aligned with the product roadmap.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices across Golang, microservices and cloud-native development.
- Apply LLMs and agentic development workflows as part of modern software-development practices.
- Collaborate with team members to share technical knowledge and continuously improve engineering practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of Backend Development experience, including 1+ year of hands-on Golang development.
- Strong programming experience in Golang.
- Strong knowledge of SQL/RDBMS and query optimization.
- Good understanding of RESTful APIs and Microservices architecture.
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
- Experience working with high-load and high-availability production systems.
- Understanding of CI/CD and up-to-date software delivery practices.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum and SDLC.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Understanding of LLMs and agentic workflows within the SDLC.
