About the Role

We're looking for a Quality Manager to lead the complete Quality Department for our machine shop. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing a team of quality engineers and inspectors across shifts, responsible for ensuring every component meets customer and industry quality standards from first piece through final inspection.

What You Will Do

1. Lead and manage the complete Quality Department for the machine shop, including a team of 6-12 Quality Engineers/Inspectors and 2 Shift Incharges.
2. Oversee CNC/VMC/HMC machining quality for automotive components.
3. Review drawings using GD&T;, and manage CP, CPK, MSA, and 7 QC Tools.
4. Operate and program CMM for precision measurement.
5. Manage the Standard Room and calibration of all measuring instruments (Contour Graph, Roundness Tester, Profile Projector, etc.).
6. Monitor First Piece, In-Process, and Final Inspection activities.
7. Analyze rejection, rework, and customer complaints; drive RCA/CAPA closure.
8. Drive Poka-Yoke, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure compliance with Control Plans, SOPs, IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP, 8D, and customer-specific quality requirements.
10. Lead and develop Quality Inspectors and Quality Engineers.
11. Track quality KPIs, rejection rates, PPM, and process performance.
12. Coordinate with Production, PPC, Maintenance, and Tool Room on quality improvement.
13. Handle internal, customer, and system audits.
14. Maintain quality documentation and records.
15. Manage shift quality activities and ensure smooth shift handovers.

What We're Looking For

1. 6-9 years of quality experience in a machine shop / precision component manufacturing environment (CNC/VMC/HMC).
2. Diploma or BE in Mechanical/Production Engineering (either accepted with relevant experience).
3. Working knowledge of IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP, and 8D - automotive-component experience preferred, but robust candidates from adjacent precision machining industries (pumps, hydraulics, general engineering) willing to apply these systems will be considered.
4. Hands-on expertise in GD&T;, CP/CPK, MSA, 7 QC Tools, and CMM operation/programming.
5. Experience managing a team of quality inspectors/engineers and running multi-shift quality operations.
6. Willingness to work a fixed 10-hour shift schedule with Tuesday as the weekly off.
