Role & responsibilities

Blast Furnace Electrical Area In-Charge (Electrical Maintenance)

Ensure protected, reliable, and continuous operation of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation

systems to support production targets and plant availability.

2. Oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of E&I; systems, including:

- Process instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, and analytical instruments)
- Control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS, servers, networks)
- Electrical systems (motors, drives, MCCs, power distribution, protection systems)

3. Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance strategies to

minimize downtime, enhance equipment reliability, and improve overall system performance.

4. Should drive reliability improvement initiatives of equipment by implementing robust

maintenance practices, ensuring availability of critical spares, and developing redundancy for

critical equipment, thereby improving MTBF.

5. Periodically review EFMEA for critical equipment and systems, and ensure timely

implementation of identified risk mitigation and countermeasures.

6. Conduct and review Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)



for major and recurring failures, and

implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce MTTR and enhance MTBF.

7. Plan, coordinate, and execute shutdown and major maintenance activities efficiently, ensuring

minimal impact on production, safety, and furnace stability.

8. Monitor and ensure availability of critical spares, optimize inventory levels through

consumption analysis, criticality assessment, and lead-time review, and initiate timely

procurement actions. Drive spares standardization and indigenization initiatives where

feasible.

9. Ensure effective utilization of SAP PM Module for maintenance planning, execution, spares

management, cost tracking, and historical analysis.

10. Prepare, review, and implement SOPs, SMPs, and HIRA documents to ensure standardized,

safe, and compliant maintenance and operational practices.

11. Ensure 100% compliance with corporate safety standards, statutory requirements, and

environmental norms, and drive a culture of zero incidents through strict adherence to safe
