NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde is proud to be one of the UK’s largest healthcare systems. Right now, we’re embarking on one of Scotland’s most ambitious change programmes. Guided by our aim for Better Health, Better Care, Better Value, and a Better Workplace, we’re reimagining how urgent care is delivered for our communities.
At the heart of this transformation is our newly established Interface Care Division. This exciting division has been created to drive bold innovation, strengthen integration between primary and secondary care, and put patients firmly at the centre of everything we do. Over the next three years, the division will lead a series of ground-breaking developments.
This is about more than improving services it’s about transforming the way care is experienced. By shifting the balance of care closer to home, enhancing patient pathways, and reducing delays, we will ensure people receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
An exciting and unique leadership opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated General Practitioner to join NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde's Interface Division as Primary Care Clinical Lead. This newly established role has been created to provide senior clinical leadership and strategic direction for primary care within the Virtual Hospital and wider Interface Division. Working alongside consultant, nursing, allied health professional and operational leaders, the post holder will play a key role in shaping cutting-edge models of care that improve patient outcomes and strengthen integration across healthcare boundaries.
The post was established specifically to support the development and optimisation of the role of GPs within the Virtual Hospital and to enhance patient pathways across the system.
As the senior primary care voice within the division, the successful candidate will champion the perspective of General Practice in service design, pathway development and strategic decision-making. They will help ensure that new models of care are clinically effective, practical for primary care colleagues and deliver seamless transitions between community and acute services.
The role offers a rare opportunity to influence the future of urgent and unscheduled care at scale. The post holder will work across organisational boundaries to strengthen relationships between primary care, community services, acute hospitals, HSCPs and wider partners, helping to create integrated pathways that deliver the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
Now is the perfect time to join us. Be part of a forward-thinking, values driven team that is shaping the future of urgent care across Greater Glasgow & Clyde and help us build a healthier, more connected system for all.
