Industrial automation is hard for AI models: ladder logic, I/O, safety interlocks and vendor-specific tooling all trip them up. We need working automation engineers and trainers to create tasks that expose these gaps and help close them.
What you'll do
- Write original problems in PLC programming (ladder logic, structured text, function block diagram), HMI/SCADA design, sequencing and interlock logic
- Produce correct, commented reference programs and grading rubrics
- Review AI-generated PLC code for correctness, safety and standards compliance (IEC 61131-3)
- Review and edit tasks from other domain experts
You're a fit if you have
- 3+ years in industrial automation, commissioning, or PLC training
- Hands-on experience with at least one platform: Siemens (TIA Portal), Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000), Mitsubishi, Delta or Schneider
- Working knowledge of sensors, actuators, drives and industrial communication protocols
- Solid written communication
Nice to have: SCADA/HMI (WinCC, FactoryTalk), VFD and motion control, functional safety, experience teaching automation courses
What to expect: Remote, flexible, hourly pay. Selection is through a short practical task, not a long interview loop.
