About the Role The Engineering Manager leads a team of engineers and testers to deliver high-quality, reliable SaaS products with predictable execution. This role combines strong technical leadership with accountability for engineering delivery, software quality, and production stability while balancing feature development with modernization and technical debt reduction.

You'll develop high-performing engineers and technical leads, foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement, and ensure engineering teams deliver sustainable solutions to complex business problems.

What You’ll Do

Drive Quality and Delivery

- Own engineering execution from technical refinement through development, testing, and production release, ensuring predictable delivery and quality outcomes.

- Ensure technical readiness before development by validating solution approaches, dependencies, edge cases, and implementation risks.

- Drive realistic estimation, manage dependencies, proactively identify delivery risks, and adjust execution plans as priorities or circumstances change.

- Drive CI/CD best practices, automated testing, and release quality gates to ensure reliable, repeatable, and effective software delivery.

- Track engineering performance through delivery predictability, defect trends, rework,



automation coverage, and release reliability, driving improvements where needed.

- Lead production incident resolution, blameless postmortems, root cause analysis, and preventive actions to address recurring issues.

Guide Technical Direction

- Provide technical leadership in system design and complex implementations, reviewing architecture decisions and challenging technical solutions where necessary.

- Establish coding standards, design patterns, API design, data modeling, and performance practices that support scalable, maintainable systems.

- Partner with architects and senior engineers to guide legacy modernization, manage technical debt, and contribute to the technology roadmap.

- Evaluate technical trade-offs and recommend pragmatic solutions that balance business needs, maintainability, performance, and operational stability.

- Partner with DevOps to improve build and deployment pipelines, environment consistency, and engineering automation.

Lead and Develop People

- Manage hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, regular 1:1s, and individual development plans.

- Set clear expectations, build accountability, and develop engineers and technical leads to independently own technical solutions and delivery.

- Foster an inclusive, collaborative culture that encourages technical rigor, ownership, and continuous learning.

- Promote responsible AI-assisted development practices to improve engineering productivity and quality.

Partner Cross-Functionally

- Partner with Product, QA, Architecture, and DevOps to align requirements, technical solutions, and delivery priorities.

- Collaborate with Product on estimates, scope, dependencies, and delivery trade-offs based on engineering capacity.

- Communicate delivery status, risks, and technical decisions clearly to stakeholders.





- Manage engineering resources, vendor relationships, and technology costs within team scope.

What You'll Bring

Required

- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 6+ years of hands-on full-stack development and 3+ years of direct engineering people management.

- Strong technical proficiency in .NET/C#, React/Angular, MySQL/SQL Server, and AWS or Azure, with the ability to review designs and guide complex implementations.

- Proven experience leading engineering teams delivering enterprise SaaS products, with accountability for delivery, software quality, and production stability.

- Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, API design, database performance, and legacy application modernization.

- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment strategies, and modern software delivery practices.

- Demonstrated technical judgment in evaluating complex solutions, identifying risks, and making sound engineering trade-offs.

- Proven people leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, and developing technical leads.

- Experience improving engineering quality through automated testing, code reviews, defect analysis, and continuous improvement.

- Practical AI fluency, with experience using AI-assisted development tools and guiding their effective adoption.

Preferred

- Experience with healthcare, procurement, supply chain, or financial workflow software.

- Experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams, including US and India/offshore teams.

- Experience modernizing legacy SaaS applications while maintaining ongoing feature delivery and production stability.
