Job Description – EV Mechanic / Service Technician

1. Roles and Responsibilities

A. EV Vehicle Servicing and Maintenance

* Perform periodic servicing and preventive maintenance of Hykon electric autos.

* Inspect vehicles for mechanical and electrical defects.

* Check brakes, suspension, steering, tyres and wheel bearings.

* Inspect and maintain the vehicle’s drivetrain and transmission.

* Check wiring connections, terminals and electrical components.

* Ensure vehicles are maintained according to manufacturer guidelines.

B. Electrical and Battery System Maintenance

* Diagnose battery-related complaints and performance issues.

* Inspect battery connections, wiring harnesses and terminals.

* Check battery charging systems and charger functionality.

* Identify issues related to BMS (Battery Management System).

* Inspect DC-DC converters, controllers, motors and electrical circuits.

* Identify loose connections, short circuits and electrical faults.

* Follow proper safety procedures while handling high-voltage components.

C. Motor and Controller Troubleshooting

* Diagnose electric motor performance issues.

* Identify acceleration, power delivery and speed-related complaints.

* Inspect motor wiring and controller connections.

* Troubleshoot throttle, sensors and electronic control systems.

* Replace defective electrical and mechanical components after approval.

* Conduct performance testing after repairs.

D. Mechanical Repairs

* Attend brake and suspension complaints.

* Repair or replace defective mechanical components.

* Check wheel alignment and tyre condition.

* Inspect steering, bearings and chassis components.

* Attend abnormal noise,



vibration and handling complaints.

* Ensure proper vehicle assembly after repairs.

E. Customer Complaint Handling

* Understand customer complaints and identify the root cause.

* Conduct vehicle inspections and test drives.

* Explain technical problems to the service manager.

* Complete repairs within the committed timeline.

* Ensure customer vehicles are delivered in proper working condition.

F. Workshop and Spare Parts Management

* Maintain service records and job cards.

* Maintain proper records of spare parts consumed.

* Inform the service manager about spare parts requirements.

* Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment and workshop cleanliness.

* Ensure proper handling of customer vehicles.

* Maintain warranty repair documentation.

2. Daily Responsibilities

3. Qualifications and Experience

* ITI / Diploma in Automobile, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.

* 1–3 years of experience in automobile or EV servicing.

* Practical knowledge of electric vehicle systems.

* Knowledge of BLDC/PMSM motors and motor controllers.

* Understanding of lithium-ion batteries and BMS.

* Knowledge of electrical wiring, multimeters and diagnostic tools.

* Ability to troubleshoot independently.

* Experience with electric three-wheelers will be an added advantage.

4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The mechanic will be evaluated based on:

* Number of vehicles serviced per day.

* Quality and accuracy of repairs.

* Reduction in repeat complaints.

* Timely completion of service jobs.

* Customer satisfaction.

* Proper handling of warranty claims.
