About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and practical Assistant Purchase Manager to join our grocery supply chain team. For this role, formal academic degrees do not matter—we are looking purely for someone who knows the local grocery/FMCG market inside out, understands supplier networks, and has solid, hands-on purchasing experience.

Key Responsibilities
1. Supplier & Vendor Management:
- Connect with and onboard local grocery, staples, FMCG, and produce suppliers/wholesalers.
- Maintain daily supplier relationships and follow up strictly on delivery schedules, fill rates, and product quality. 2. Daily Purchasing & Stock Control:
- Keep track of inventory levels to prevent stockouts and avoid over-purchasing.
- Generate and manage daily purchase orders (POs) based on actual stock requirements.
- Manage replenishment schedules and closely track product expiry/shelf-life to minimize damage and loss. 3. Price Negotiation & Local Market Tracking:
- Negotiate sharp purchase rates, payment terms, and volume discounts directly with local vendors to ensure maximum margins.
- Continuously monitor local market prices, mandi rates, and competitor pricing trends. 4. Quality & Dispute Handling:
- Inspect incoming shipments against standard quality and order specifications.
- Promptly handle damaged goods, short deliveries, and supplier credit notes. 5.



Operations Coordination:
- Coordinate daily with warehouse staff and store teams for smooth unloading and stock entry. Who We Are Looking For:

Experience:
Minimum 2 to 4+ years of hands-on purchasing/procurement work in grocery retail, supermarkets, wholesale food trading, or FMCG supply chains.
- Local Candidate: Must be currently living locally and familiar with local wholesale markets, suppliers, and distribution channels.
- Market Savvy: Sharp negotiation skills and a strong eye for grocery quality, pricing, and shelf-life management.
- Practical

Skills:
Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel for stock/rate records) and familiarity with everyday purchasing workflows. No specific educational degrees required.
