About Elate Agency

Elate is a development and marketing agency building e-commerce platforms, B2B ordering systems and custom SaaS for UK businesses. We work across Shopify, WordPress/WooCommerce, Magento and bespoke builds, and we're increasingly building the layer that sits between platforms: the middleware that keeps orders, stock, pricing and customers in sync across storefronts, apps, POS and legacy back-office systems.
We're a small, senior team. You'll ship real systems for real clients, not tickets in a queue.

The Role

You'll own the integration and backend layer across our biggest client builds. That means designing and building the services that connect Shopify (including Shopify B2B and POS) to ERPs, warehouse systems, accounting tools and mobile apps, and making sure they don't fall over when an API times out at 2 am.

Current and upcoming work includes:

- B2B wholesale platforms for distributors: Shopify B2B, tiered pricing, stock allocation logic, admin consoles and mobile ordering apps
- Platform migrations from WooCommerce to Shopify, including data migration and third-party system integration
- Legacy ERP integration: connecting Shopify storefronts to bespoke SQL Server based stock and order systems
- Multi-site DTC builds: a transactional hub plus brand sites, with marketplace (Amazon/eBay) and email platform integrations

What You'll Do

- Design, build and maintain integration services between Shopify and external systems (ERP, stock, accounting, POS, mobile apps)
- Build order, stock, product and customer syncs that handle failures, retries and duplicates properly
- Work with the Shopify Admin GraphQL API, webhooks, Shopify Functions and B2B features
- Build and maintain custom Shopify apps and backend APIs for our mobile apps
- Write SQL against client databases (often SQL Server), including legacy schemas with little or no documentation
- Deploy and run what you build:

CI/CD, hosting, logging, monitoring and alerting
- Scope integration work with clients and third-party developers, and turn messy requirements into clear technical plans
- Document everything so the systems outlive any one person

Must-Haves

- 3+ years of professional backend development
- Strong Node.js / TypeScript
- Hands-on experience with Shopify APIs (Admin GraphQL, webhooks) in production
- Solid SQL: comfortable reading and querying an unfamiliar database
- You've built at least one system-to-system sync (orders, stock, or similar) and dealt with retries, idempotency and queues
- Able to work directly with clients and explain technical trade-offs in plain English

Nice-to-Haves

- Front-end: Liquid, Shopify theme development, React or Polaris for app UIs
- DevOps: CI/CD (GitHub Actions), managed cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar), serverless, monitoring/alerting
- SQL Server or Microsoft Access back-ends
- Shopify B2B, Shopify POS or Shopify Plus experience
- Marketplace integrations (Amazon SP-API, eBay), Klaviyo, or inventory tools like Linnworks / Veeqo
- Mobile app backends (Capacitor, React Native or similar)
- Experience migrating WooCommerce or Magento stores to Shopify

What We Offer

- Ownership of real, complex builds from scoping through to launch
- A small team where your work is visible and your opinion counts
- Variety: B2B, DTC, mobile and SaaS projects across different industries

How to Apply

Apply through Indeed with your CV and answer the screening questions. In the short-answer question, tell us about one integration or sync you built: what it connected, what went wrong, and how you handled it.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year

Application Question(s):

- Have you used the Shopify Admin GraphQL API and webhooks on a live production project?
- Describe one integration or sync you built: what it connected, what went wrong, and how you handled it.
- What is your notice period in days?

Experience:

- Backend development: 3 years (Required)
- Node.js: 2 years (Required)
