About Us

We’re building a new Indian women’s clothing brand from the ground up, focused on creating sophisticated, contemporary workwear for modern women. We’re looking for a creative Freelance Fashion Designer who can help bring our brand vision to life through thoughtful designs, quality detailing, and commercially viable collections.

This is an opportunity to work closely with the founder and contribute to building a brand from day one, with the freedom to explore ideas, develop concepts, and create distinctive designs for the modern Indian woman.

About the Role

We’re looking for a fashion designer with a strong understanding of women’s wear, design development, fabric selection, and garment detailing. You’ll be responsible for developing design concepts, creating design presentations, and preparing production-ready technical packs for selected designs.

This is a freelance, project-based role with scope for ongoing assignments as the brand grows.

What You’ll Do

- Develop original designs for contemporary Indian women’s workwear, including tops, shirts, trousers, co-ord sets, dresses, and other relevant styles.
- Create inspiration boards, mood boards, and design presentations aligned with the brand’s aesthetic.
- Research current fashion trends, silhouettes, colours, fabrics, prints, and surface embellishment techniques.
- Explore creative detailing such as embroidery, lace, cutwork, appliqué, patchwork, placement prints, and button detailing.
- Recommend suitable fabrics, trims, colours, and construction details for each design.
- Develop commercially viable designs that balance style, comfort, functionality, and target pricing.
- Prepare detailed technical packs for selected designs, including sketches, measurements, construction details, fabric and trim specifications, and finishing instructions.




- Coordinate with the merchandising and production teams to clarify design requirements and support sample development.
- Review samples and suggest improvements to fit, proportions, detailing, and overall appearance.
- Incorporate feedback and revise designs to meet the brand’s requirements.
- Meet agreed project deadlines and present design collections for review and selection.

What We’re Looking For

- A degree or diploma in Fashion Design or a related field preferred.
- Experience in women’s wear design, contemporary fashion, or workwear is an advantage.
- Strong creative skills in developing original and commercially relevant designs.
- Positive understanding of fabrics, garment construction, silhouettes, and finishing techniques.
- Ability to create clear fashion sketches, design presentations, and technical packs.
- Knowledge of embroidery, prints, lace, and other garment embellishment techniques.
- Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or similar design tools.
- Ability to understand a brand brief and translate it into a cohesive collection.
- Good communication, attention to detail, and time management.
- A portfolio showcasing original designs is required.

Project & Work Arrangement

- Engagement: Freelance / Project-based
- Work Mode: Remote or hybrid, with meetings or sample reviews as required
- Compensation: Negotiable based on project scope and experience
- Workload: Design assignments with mutually agreed deliverables and timelines
