About the Role

We are looking for a pediatric therapist at our Perungudi, Chennai office with hands-on experience working with children on the autism spectrum. You will provide therapy in your area of expertise and contribute to research on interventions for children with autism. You will travel to autism centers for assessments, data collection and research work.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical (as per your discipline)

- Assess and treat motor delays, coordination, balance, posture, gait and muscle tone.
- Design and deliver individualized, play-based therapy plans suited to each child’s sensory and communication needs.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team with other therapists, speech therapists and special educators.
- Counsel and train parents and caregivers on home programs and strategies.
- Maintain accurate session notes, progress reports and outcome records.

Research

- Conduct assessments using standardized tools relevant to your discipline for research studies.
- Collect, record and organize data accurately and ethically.
- Assist in literature reviews, study protocols and documentation.
- Support the preparation of reports, publications and conference presentations.
- Follow research ethics, informed consent and child-safety protocols.

Travel and field work

- Visit autism centers, schools and partner institutions across Chennai and nearby areas as required for research and assessment.





Required Qualifications and Skills

Any one of the following:

- Physiotherapist: BPT/MPT with valid registration with the Tamil Nadu or relevant national physiotherapy council.
- Occupational therapist: BOT/MOT with valid registration with the relevant council.
- Psychologist: Master’s degree in Psychology (Clinical, Child or Counselling), or M.Phil in Clinical/Rehabilitation Psychology, with RCI registration preferred.

Common requirements:

- 1-2 years of experience working with children, with demonstrated experience with children on the autism spectrum.
- Knowledge of developmental milestones, sensory integration and neurodevelopmental approaches.
- Familiarity with standardized assessment tools for your discipline (e.g., GMFM, BOT-2, M-ABC for physiotherapy; SIPT, Sensory Profile for OT; ADOS, CARS, Vineland, developmental scales for psychology).

Mandatory Requirements

- Own two-wheeler with a valid driving license.
- Willingness to travel to autism centers as needed.
- Ability to join immediately or at short notice.

Preferred (Good to Have)

- Prior research involvement, publications or poster presentations.
- Additional training in autism-specific interventions (e.g., sensory integration, ABA, early intervention).
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel, or familiarity with data tools.
