Role Description The Cybersecurity Intern role at Weskill is a remote internship focused on supporting the design, review, and improvement of security practices across training content and internal systems. Day-to-day activities may include assisting in vulnerability research, reviewing application and network configurations for potential risks, and supporting the documentation of information security standards. The intern will help monitor basic security events, contribute to cybersecurity awareness materials, and collaborate with mentors to analyze security incidents and propose remediation steps.



This role offers exposure to real-world security scenarios and is designed to build foundational skills for a career in cybersecurity. Qualifications
• Foundational skills in Cybersecurity and Information Security, with an understanding of core security principles and best practices.
• Knowledge of Application Security concepts, including common vulnerabilities and secure coding or configuration basics.
• Understanding of Network Security fundamentals, such as firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure network design.
• Interest in broader Cyber domains, including threat analysis, security monitoring, and incident response.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Ability to learn quickly, follow documented procedures, and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
• Basic familiarity with operating systems (Linux/Windows), networking concepts, and security tools is an advantage.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication skills.
