About the Role
Entwine Technology is looking for a hands-on Senior Hardware Design Engineer to own the design and development of embedded electronic hardware for connected products and IoT-based systems. The role focuses on circuit design, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototype bring-up, testing and production readiness. The engineer will collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing and project teams to deliver reliable, manufacturable products. Role Focus : Embedded Hardware Design, Schematic Capture, PCB Layout & Validation
Key Responsibilities
— Hardware Design & PCB Development● Own embedded hardware development from product requirements and system architecture through schematic design, PCB layout, prototype validation and release. ● Design multi-layer PCB schematics and layouts using Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD, Eagle or equivalent EDA tools. ● Select microcontrollers, sensors, power-management ICs, communication ICs, connectors, protection devices and other electronic components. ● Design power-supply circuits including DC-DC converters, LDOs, battery interfaces, charging circuits and input protection. ● Design analog and digital circuits, including signal conditioning, ADC front ends, level shifting, filtering and interface circuits. ● Design interfaces for UART, SPI, I²C, RS-485, CAN, USB, Ethernet and wireless modules as required. ● Design actuator/control circuits such as MOSFET drivers, motor drivers, H-bridges, relay/contactor interfaces and load switching circuits. ● Perform component placement, routing, stack-up planning, grounding, return-path management and power distribution. ● Apply design practices for signal integrity, thermal management, EMI/EMC, ESD, surge protection,
creepage and clearance. ● Generate Gerber, drill files, BOM, pick-and-place files, assembly drawings and fabrication notes. ● Coordinate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors; support prototype builds, DFM/DFA reviews and component substitutions. ● Maintain design files, revision history, component libraries and engineering change documentation. Prototype Bring-up, Testing & Debugging● Plan and execute PCB bring-up, functional testing and hardware validation. ● Debug power, reset, clock, analog, digital and communication-interface issues. ● Use oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, logic analyzers, electronic loads and bench power supplies for testing and fault isolation. ● Perform continuity, power-rail, current-consumption, thermal and interface-level checks. ● Collaborate with firmware engineers to validate board interfaces, pin mapping, peripheral connectivity and hardware-software integration. ● Identify root causes of hardware failures and implement corrective actions through schematic or PCB revisions. ● Support reliability, environmental and pre-compliance EMI/EMC testing as required. Cross-functional & Client-facing Responsibilities● Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing and project teams to define product-level hardware requirements. ● Participate in customer technical discussions to understand requirements, clarify interfaces and present hardware design solutions. ● Support feasibility studies, component-cost evaluation, technical proposals and effort estimation for recent projects. ● Support product demonstrations, proof-of-concept builds and technical reviews when required. ● Coordinate technical issues and design changes with customers, vendors and internal stakeholders. Required Technical Skills● 3–5 years of hands-on experience in embedded hardware design and PCB development.
● Strong experience in schematic capture, component selection, PCB placement and routing. ● Practical proficiency in at least one PCB design tool: Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD or Eagle. ● Good understanding of microcontroller-based hardware architecture and common MCU peripherals. ● Experience designing power supplies, protection circuits, analog/digital interfaces and communication interfaces. ● Understanding of motor drivers, MOSFET switching, relay interfaces and actuator-control hardware is preferred. ● Knowledge of PCB stack-up, grounding, signal integrity, EMI/EMC, ESD and thermal considerations. ● Ability to interpret datasheets, application notes and reference designs and translate them into production-ready circuits. ● Hands-on experience with PCB prototype bring-up, laboratory instruments and hardware debugging. ● Experience preparing BOMs, Gerbers, drill files and manufacturing/assembly documentation. ● Good documentation, problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills. Preferred Experience● ESP32, STM32 or other MCU-based product hardware. ● IoT and connected-device hardware, including Wi-Fi, BLE, Ethernet or cellular modules. ● Sensor interfacing, temperature measurement, ADC signal conditioning and instrumentation. ● Industrial control electronics, motor control, relay/contactor switching or power electronics. ● Battery-powered products, charging circuits and low-power design. ● Designing products for production, including DFM/DFA and component lifecycle management. EducationB.
E./B.
Tech. in Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electrical, Instrumentation or a related engineering discipline. Relevant hands-on product-design experience will be valued. Ideal Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate is a practical hardware engineer who can independently own an embedded PCB design, make sound component and circuit-design decisions, bring prototypes to life, debug hardware issues and prepare designs for manufacturing. The candidate should collaborate effectively with firmware and other engineering teams while retaining clear ownership of hardware design and validation. Candidates who can join immediately or within a short notice period will be preferred.
