KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead end-to-end support for ECU products by investigating production, plant, customer, and warranty issues, performing failure analysis, identifying root causes, and driving effective containment, corrective, and preventive actions.
- Serve as the primary technical interface between customers, manufacturing plants, suppliers, quality teams, and product development organizations for product quality concerns, field failures, warranty investigations, and escalation management.
- Perform ECU-level and component-level troubleshooting, including analysis of electronic circuits, PCB assemblies, schematics, manufacturing data, and validation results to support timely issue resolution and continuous product improvement.
- Provide day-to-day production support by resolving material, process, hardware, software, and manufacturing-related issues, while improving product quality, reliability, yield, and manufacturability.
- Lead structured problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, 5-Why, Fishbone Analysis, and CAPA to prevent recurrence and improve customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and communicate technical analysis reports, failure analysis reports, 8D reports, warranty investigation reports, and customer updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate and implement engineering changes, including ECRs, eSCRs, and customer change requests, while assessing impacts on product design, manufacturing, quality, cost, supply chain, and customer requirements.
- Monitor field performance, warranty trends, and quality metrics to identify improvement opportunities, support benchmarking activities, and drive product enhancement and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Support validation, reliability, environmental, vibration, EMC, electrical, and qualification testing activities,
including coordination of testing for returned products and investigation samples.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supplier Quality, and Product Development teams to implement corrective actions, ensure compliance with product specifications, and strengthen lessons learned deployment across programs.
- Provide technical leadership by mentoring engineers and technicians, developing failure analysis capabilities, promoting knowledge sharing, and driving continuous improvement in engineering processes and best practices.
