Role Description This is a full-time Ecotoxicologist – Agrochemicals for EU role based in the Greater Kolkata Area, structured as a hybrid/ Remote position with a mix of office and work-from-home days. The ecotoxicologist will design, review, and interpret ecotoxicological studies for agrochemical products in line with EU regulatory frameworks. Daily responsibilities include preparing risk assessments, drafting and reviewing regulatory dossiers, and providing scientific input on environmental fate and effects of agrochemicals. The role will involve close collaboration with internal regulatory teams and external laboratories, monitoring relevant EU guidance updates, and contributing to strategy for product registrations.



The ecotoxicologist will also support clients by explaining technical findings, addressing regulatory queries, and helping optimize study designs to meet both scientific and regulatory expectations. Candidate Profile: Robust foundation in ecotoxicology, environmental sciences, or a related field, with the ability to design, analyze, and interpret ecotoxicological studies for agrochemicals. Knowledge of EU agrochemical regulatory frameworks (e.g., Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009), risk assessment methodologies, and relevant guidance documents.

• Monitoring of studies
• Preparation of study summaries of ecotoxicological (tier 1, higher-tier and open literature) studies
• Preparation of risk assessments in accordance with the EU and national requirements, including literature searches and information management
• Preparation of risk assessments for non-EU countries/regions
• Preparation of Completeness-checks und study lists
• Preparation of IUCLID dossier chapters
• Conducting data gap analyses, GAP evaluations and validity checks
• Completion of the entire Ecotoxicology Section
• Implementation and evaluation of questions in connection with BMD calculations
