Role Description The Technician Anaesthesia is a full time, on-site role based at Highland Hospital’s facility in Bengaluru. This position supports anaesthesiologists and nursing staff in the preparation, maintenance, and secure operation of anaesthesia equipment and supplies. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting up anaesthesia machines and monitoring devices, preparing and labeling medications as directed, and ensuring all consumables and emergency drugs are available and within expiry. The technician assists in patient positioning and transfer before and after procedures, helps maintain sterility in the operating room, and follows infection control protocols. The role also involves equipment checks and troubleshooting, documentation of usage and maintenance,



and adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines. Qualifications
• Diploma or certificate in Anaesthesia Technology or related field from a recognized institution; bachelor’s degree in a health sciences discipline is an advantage.
• Experience working as an anaesthesia technician or in an operating room/critical care environment, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Knowledge of anaesthesia machines, ventilators, monitors, suction devices, and related equipment, including routine checks, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting.
• Understanding of sterile techniques, infection control practices, and safe handling and storage of anaesthetic drugs and consumables.
• Ability to follow clinical instructions accurately, prioritize tasks during busy surgical lists, and maintain attention to detail under time pressure.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with anaesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, and other clinical staff.
• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and adherence to hospital protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by operating room schedules.
