Role Overview We are seeking a technically strong Data Engineer to join a larger delivery team in India. The role will focus on working with application teams to design and promote fit-for-purpose database solutions, while providing reliable support across non-production environments. The successful candidate will be comfortable delivering assigned tasks, collaborating within a multidisciplinary team and learning recent technologies as the platform evolves.

Key Responsibilities
Work with application and engineering teams to understand data and database requirements. Contribute to the design, build and promotion of database solutions across development, test and other non-production environments. Provide day-to-day non-production database support, including investigation, troubleshooting and resolution of assigned issues. Implement database changes in line with agreed engineering practices, release processes and team standards. Support data modelling, schema design, database configuration and performance-related activities as required. Participate actively in team ceremonies, technical discussions, peer reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions. Maintain clear technical documentation for database designs, changes, support procedures and operational handovers.



Develop capability in new database, cloud and engineering technologies relevant to the programme. Essential Skills and Experience 5-7 years of relevant experience in data engineering, database engineering or database development/support roles. Strong hands-on knowledge of PostgreSQL or a major NoSQL platform such as Cassandra, MongoDB or Couchbase. Practical experience supporting database solutions used by application teams. Understanding of relational and/or NoSQL data modelling, schema design and data access patterns. Experience working across development, test or other non-production environments. Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a larger team and deliver tasks to agreed quality and timelines. Willingness and ability to learn new technologies. Desirable Skills Exposure to AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Experience with automation, scripting, CI/CD pipelines or infrastructure-as-code practices. Familiarity with distributed data platforms, database observability, security or performance tuning. Experience working in Agile delivery teams.
