Senior Copywriter – Content & Ad Strategy A writer who thinks like a strategist: plan the content, shape the ad angles, and write the words that drive results — in Telugu and English. Location Hyderabad (in office) Employment type Full-time Experience 3–5 years, agency-side Reports to Founder/Co Founder Works with Performance marketer, DOP, video editor, graphic designer, account executive, web team Languages Telugu and English (native-level writing in Telugu required) CTC range ₹5.5–7 LPA, based on experience and test-task performance About EmporiaEmporia is a Hyderabad-based marketing and creative agency. We run monthly retainers for clients in government, real estate, healthcare (India and US), food and beverage, fashion retail and ethnic retail, alongside brand identity and website projects. Our content work is shoot-led and short-form first: scripting, shoots, design, editing, posting, reporting and social listening. The RoleYou will own the copy and the monthly content plan across our retainers: calendars, reel and shoot scripts, captions, ad copy, website content and brand collaterals. A significant share of the work is for a government sector client, written in Telugu for public audiences. Emporia is growing into a real estate performance marketing agency. You will write the ad copy, landing pages and campaign scripts that generate leads and site visits for property developers, working with our performance marketer. This is not a write-to-brief role. You are expected to understand why content and ads work: who the audience is, what stage of the funnel a piece serves, which angle to test, and what the data says. You decide what to write as well as how to write it. Calendars are approved monthly by the founder; day-to-day content and creative decisions are yours.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy
• Content pillars: define content pillars, audience segments and tone for each retainer, and revisit them quarterly.
• Platform strategy: decide format mix and posting rhythm per platform — reels, carousels, statics, stories, YouTube Shorts — based on what each client's audience responds to.
• Monthly content calendars: plan platform-wise calendars for each content retainer and get them approved before the month starts.
• Campaign ideas: develop recurring series, seasonal and festive campaigns, and topical content tied to each client's business goals.
• Performance review: read monthly post data (reach, watch time, saves, shares, profile actions) and change next month's plan because of it.
• Social listening insights:
turn the government account's listening data into content direction and write the insight section of its monthly report.
Key Responsibilities
Ad Strategy
• Funnel thinking: map ad creatives to funnel stages — awareness, consideration, lead, retargeting — for each real estate and lead-generation campaign.
• Creative angles: develop angles per audience (end-users, investors, NRI buyers): location, price, amenities, lifestyle, urgency, trust.
• Testing plans: with the performance marketer, plan structured creative tests — hooks, offers, formats, copy length — and write the variants.
• Ad data: read cost per lead, CTR, hook rate and lead quality feedback, and use it to decide the next round of creatives.
• Organic to paid: identify organic posts that should be turned into ads for existing content clients, and pitch those upsells with the founder.
Key Responsibilities
Writing
• Shoot briefs: write shoot briefs and shot lists with the DOP so a shoot day covers a month of content.
• Scripts: write reel, shoot and video ad scripts in Telugu and English, with hooks, on-screen text and voiceover lines.
• Social copy: captions, static post copy, carousel copy and hashtags for each client's calendar.
• Real estate ad copy: headlines, primary text, lead-form copy and variants for Meta and Google lead-generation campaigns; scripts for walkthrough, location and testimonial videos; copy aimed at local and NRI buyers.
• Landing pages: conversion-focused landing page copy for property projects — offer, location benefits, amenities, pricing cues and calls to action.
• Compliance: ensure property ads carry required details such as the project's RERA registration number; no claims the client cannot substantiate.
• Website content: page copy for client websites — home, about, services, product pages — written for clarity and search.
• Collaterals: brochures, product descriptions, packaging copy, user manuals and other business collaterals for project clients.
• Government communication: write accurate, appropriate Telugu content for public messaging; follow approval guidelines strictly.
• Transcreation: adapt English content into natural Telugu and vice versa — not literal translation.
• Revisions:
turn around client and founder feedback quickly; maintain version control.
• Brand voice: maintain voice documents and glossaries for each client, including Telugu terminology.
• Time logging: log hours daily per client and task category. Must-Have Skills
• Telugu: native-level writing — grammar, spelling and tone, including formal and conversational registers.
• English: clean, persuasive writing for social, ads and web.
• Short-form scripting: understands how scripts translate to shots, edits and on-screen text for reels.
• Range: can switch voice across sectors — government, healthcare, real estate, food, fashion.
• Content strategy: has built content pillars and monthly calendars for multiple clients, and can explain the reasoning behind them.
• Ad strategy: understands Meta and Google ad funnels, creative testing and audience-based messaging; has written ads for lead-generation or sales campaigns.
• Data literacy: reads Meta Business Suite and Ads Manager data — reach, retention, CTR, cost per lead — and turns it into creative decisions.
• Direct-response writing: understands hooks, offers and calls to action that drive leads, not just engagement.
• Speed: delivers multiple scripts per day to deadline without dropping quality.
• Typing: comfortable typing in Telugu Unicode (Google Input Tools, Lekhini or similar). Good to Have
• Real estate or property marketing copy experience.
• Basic SEO writing knowledge for website content.
• Experience with ad copy A/B testing.
• Hindi as an additional language.
• Interest in film, regional pop culture and social trends. Selection Process
• Writing samples: scripts, captions or web copy you have written, in both Telugu and English.
• Test task, part A (content): a one-month calendar for one of our retainers with its content pillars and the reasoning behind them, plus three reel scripts (at least two in Telugu, one for public/government messaging).
• Test task, part B (ads): a Meta lead ad plan for a sample residential project — funnel stages, two audience segments (one NRI), three creative angles with copy variants, and how you would judge which one wins.
• Interview with the founders: walkthrough of both parts and a data-reading exercise on a real post and ad export.
