About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Finance Director to run day-to-day financial reporting, cost control and P&L; management for a growing, multi-unit hospitality group in Mumbai. This is an execution-focused role: pulling information out of outlets, kitchens, purchase teams and vendors, turning it into accurate reporting, and using it to actively manage costs, cash flow and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning & Budgeting
• Prepare annual budgets, monthly/quarterly forecasts and rolling cash-flow and profitability projections for the group and each outlet, tracking actuals against budget and chasing down variances. 2. Management Information System (MIS)
• Prepare the group's MIS
- daily revenue flash, weekly P&L;, monthly management accounts and outlet
- wise P&L;
- with cost percentages, margins, EBITDA and variance explanations. 3. Cost Control & Profitability
• Monitor food, beverage, labour and operating costs with the F&B; Cost Controller; track inventory variances, wastage and vendor pricing to catch leakage and fix recurring issues with operations and kitchen teams. 4. Purchase & Vendor Controls
• Run the purchase-order process against budgets and approved rates, track vendor balances and payment schedules, and benchmark rates to flag duplicate or inflated purchases.5. Events & Commercial Pricing
• Work out event contribution margins and pricing against minimum-margin requirements, and review profitability after each event to sharpen future pricing. 6. Cash Flow & Treasury
• Prepare weekly cash-flow forecasts, plan payment runs, track receivables and collections, and flag cash-flow gaps early. 7.

Capex & Recent Projects
• Prepare pre-opening and project budgets, track capex and vendor commitments against approvals, and build financial models for new locations. 8. Outlet Financial Accountability
• Set clear monthly targets for each outlet, then walk through performance with the GM every month
- what was budgeted, what actually happened, why, and what's being done about it. 9. Compliance, Accounting & Statutory Matters
• Handle monthly closing, keep books accurate, and coordinate with CAs, auditors and tax consultants on GST, TDS, income tax and annual audits. 10. Partner Reporting
• Prepare group
- and outlet-wise reporting on revenue, margins, EBITDA, cash position and key risks for partner review. 11. Coordination & Follow-Through
• Work alongside the Accounts and Cost Control team day to day, keep SOPs followed on the ground, and support better systems and less manual reconciliation. Skills & Competencies
• Financial: P&L; management, budgeting & forecasting, cash-flow management, cost accounting, variance analysis, working-capital & capex tracking, statutory compliance.
• Hospitality/Commercial: Restaurant P&L;, food & beverage costing, inventory control, vendor management, event profitability, outlet-level profitability,

labour-cost management.
• Systems: Advanced Excel/Google Sheets, accounting/ERP systems, POS and MIS dashboards
- used hands
- on, daily. Personal Attributes
• Hands-on and detail-oriented
- comfortable doing the legwork of pulling numbers together, not just reviewing what others prepare.
• Organised and analytical, with strong follow-through on chasing information from the right people until variances are explained.
• Able to work directly with founders, partners, GMs and vendors, and communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
• Most importantly: reliable and thorough
- someone who executes and turns raw information into accurate, timely reporting, every time. Key Performance Indicators
• Accuracy and timeliness of MIS, P&L; delivery and reporting.
• Budget-vs-actual performance and reduction in financial leakage or unexplained variances.
• Food and beverage cost improvement and vendor cost optimisation.
• Purchase compliance, cash-flow visibility and capex control.
• Statutory compliance and reduced partner involvement in day-to-day financial administration. The Person We Are Looking For We're not looking for someone who only reviews numbers other people have prepared. We need a hands-on Finance Manager who pulls data from outlets, the kitchen, vendors and the accounts team, puts it together accurately, and follows up until the numbers add up — while still getting the day-to-day books right.
