Role SummaryThe Finance Manager of this apparel manufacturing company leads the accounts, factory and cost accounting, budgeting, treasury and compliance functions, and gives management accurate, timely financial insight for decisions. The role owns the monthly close, cash flow and statutory compliance, and manages a small finance team.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
• Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close and prepare financial statements per applicable standards (IFRS)
• Review the general ledger, reconciliations and control accounts; resolve discrepancies promptly
• Prepare MIS and management reports covering income, expenses, capital usage and cash flow Factory & Cost Accounting (Apparel Manufacturing)
• Oversee factory accounting, including raw material, WIP and finished goods inventory valuation and monthly stock reconciliation
• Prepare and review order-wise and style-wise costing (fabric, trims, CMT, overheads) and track actual cost against costed margins
• Monitor factory overheads, wastage, rejects and consumption variances against standards
• Review payroll, overtime and piece-rate/production-linked wages against output and efficiency
• Reconcile fabric, trims and accessories purchases and consumption with store records; support periodic physical stock counts and ageing reviews of slow-moving stock
• Track buyer orders, shipments, invoicing, export documentation and realization of receivables
• Manage duty drawback, customs or bonded warehouse and other export incentive claims where applicable
• Work with merchandising, production, planning and procurement teams to improve order profitability Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
• Lead the annual budget and rolling forecasts; track actuals against budget and explain variances
• Analyze costs, pricing, margins and project profitability; recommend cost-reduction actions Factory & Cost Accounting
• Oversee factory accounting, including product and job costing, standard vs actual cost analysis and production cost reports




• Maintain inventory accounting and valuation for raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods; review stock ageing and slow-moving or obsolete items
• Review stores and warehouse records, run periodic physical stock counts and investigate variances
• Monitor factory overheads, wastage, yield and material consumption against standards
• Reconcile production, stores and purchase records with the accounting system
• Work with plant and production managers to improve costing accuracy and margins Cash Flow & Treasury
• Plan and monitor cash inflow and outflow, fund requirements and working capital
• Manage bank relationships, credit facilities, bank reconciliations and receivables follow-up
• Oversee accounts payable, payment schedules and vendor negotiations Tax & Compliance
• Ensure timely VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, corporate income tax and other statutory filings and payments to the local tax authority
• Coordinate with statutory, internal and tax auditors; close audit observations Controls & Policy
• Develop and update finance policies, procedures and internal controls
• Review procurement documents and approvals against company policy Team & Stakeholders
• Lead, coach and review the work of accountants and executives
• Partner with operations, procurement, sales and HR on financial matters Required Skills & Qualifications
• Robust command of IFRS, local tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, withholding and corporate tax) and company law requirements
• Proven experience in budgeting, variance analysis and MIS reporting
• Hands-on with accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle or similar) and advanced Excel
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Integrity, attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines Preferred
• Experience in apparel or garment manufacturing, or another export-oriented manufacturing business
• Exposure to ERP implementation, internal audit or credit rating processes
• Experience handling multi-currency transactions, forex and trade finance •
