Experience:
Relevant experience in Direct Tax Advisory, Litigation and Financial Services. Role Overview We are hiring a Manager – Direct Tax & Financial Services for one of the leading advisory firms. The role involves handling direct tax advisory, litigation, international taxation, financial services taxation, and client management, along with supporting business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
• Client Delivery – Direct Tax & Financial Services
• Assist in CIT(A) and ITAT proceedings, including preparation of cases for opinions, briefing counsel and drafting submissions for scrutiny and appeals.
• Handle complex tax and transfer pricing issues, including BEPS, GAAR, indirect transfers and AMP-related adjustments.
• Work extensively with FPIs, FIIs and financial services clients on income tax compliance, planning and advisory.
• Advise on inbound and outbound investment structuring, deal structuring and related tax implications.
• Provide tax advisory to Private Equity clients on taxation of investors and fund vehicles.
• Assist in domestic and international tax planning, including interpretation and application of Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTAA).
• Review tax notices, assessment orders and other communications, and develop appropriate responses and litigation strategies.
• Draft appeals, submissions, opinions, memorandums and reports for review by Principals and Partners.
• Coordinate with clients to obtain relevant information and documentation and ensure accuracy of tax filings and deliverables.
• Identify tax planning opportunities, compliance gaps and potential risks through comprehensive reviews of business operations.
• Manage direct tax compliance and advisory assignments,



including corporate tax, transfer pricing, withholding tax and related financial services requirements.
• Coordinate with internal teams, counsel and clients for hearings, submissions and appellate proceedings.
• Maintain research databases, review documentation and ensure timely delivery of assignments.
• Build strong client relationships and ensure effective communication throughout the engagement lifecycle.
• Business Development Support
• Prepare proposals, pitch presentations and engagement documents for prospective clients.
• Support Principals and Partners in identifying new business opportunities and potential areas for service expansion.
• Identify business leads from existing and prospective clients.
• Explore opportunities to expand services across existing client relationships.
• Draft engagement letters and ensure accuracy of documentation.
• Manage end-to-end invoicing, payment tracking and follow-ups for outstanding receivables. Desired Candidate Profile
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Relevant experience in Direct Tax Advisory and Litigation.
• Solid exposure to Financial Services taxation, particularly FPI/FII taxation.
• Experience in international taxation, investment structuring and DTAA.
• Exposure to CIT(A), ITAT proceedings, assessments and appeals.
• Good understanding of Private Equity taxation and fund structures.
• Strong client management, analytical, research and drafting skills.
