• Finance & FP&A; We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead the optimization of an existing Microsoft Fabric Medallion Architecture and prepare its transition to Snowflake, while keeping Power BI as the reporting and analytics layer. The immediate priority: Refactor and strengthen the current Microsoft Fabric environment, improve data modelling and engineering practices, and make the platform migration-ready — while ensuring business-critical Finance and FP&A; reporting remains stable, reliable, and performant. ? What You’ll Do
• Finance & FP&A; Data Engineering: Work closely with Finance stakeholders to understand business requirements, integrate enterprise financial data, and build reliable, business-ready data models supporting financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Medallion Architecture: Assess, optimize, and refactor the existing Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers in Microsoft Fabric, ensuring explicit separation between ingestion, transformation, and business consumption.
• Data Engineering & Optimization: Refactor data pipelines, transformations, orchestration, and data models to improve scalability, maintainability, performance, and data quality.
• Dimensional Modelling: Strengthen the Gold layer using Kimball dimensional modelling, including star schemas, fact and dimension tables, conformed dimensions, and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCDs).
• Snowflake Migration: Define the target architecture, identify technical dependencies and migration blockers, and develop a phased migration roadmap from Microsoft Fabric to Snowflake.
• Power BI & Reporting: Ensure continuity and performance of Power BI semantic models and business-critical financial reporting throughout the transition.
• Governance & DevOps: Improve data governance, security,



environment management (DEV/TEST/PRD), and CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, IT, and platform teams, proactively identify risks, recommend technical improvements, and guide stakeholders on data modelling best practices. ? What You Bring – Mandatory Requirements ✅ 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering & Analytics, with strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and Power BI. ✅ Strong hands-on experience with Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold), including Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse, Data Pipelines, Notebooks, and data transformation frameworks. ✅ Strong Finance Data Engineering & Analytics experience, particularly with FP&A; datasets, such as budgeting, forecasting, actuals vs. budget, cost allocation, financial consolidation, and management reporting. ✅ Experience integrating and modelling enterprise financial data from systems such as SAP (ERP/BW/S/4HANA), Anaplan, IBM Cognos, or similar Finance/EPM platforms. ✅ Expertise in Kimball dimensional modelling, including star schemas, fact and dimension tables, conformed dimensions, and SCD Type 1/2. ✅ Strong understanding of cloud data warehousing and lakehouse architectures, with Snowflake experience or the ability to ramp up quickly. ✅ Experience assessing, refactoring, or migrating enterprise data platforms, including identifying technical debt and migration dependencies. ✅ Excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions. Nice to Have: Experience working with Analytics Centers of Excellence, data governance frameworks, or enterprise data platform transformation programs. ?
