About the Role
We are looking for a technically sound, hands-on Sourcing Engineer to identify and develop manufacturing suppliers, manage sourcing requirements and support projects from initial RFQ through sample development and delivery. This role goes beyond conventional procurement. You will work closely with manufacturers, evaluate production capabilities, negotiate commercials, visit factories and conduct routine quality inspections. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, takes accountability for outcomes and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial workplace.

Key Responsibilities
1. Supplier Identification & Development
• Identify and shortlist manufacturers based on technical specifications, manufacturing capabilities, quality standards and commercial requirements.
• Evaluate supplier infrastructure, manufacturing processes, production capacity and technical capabilities.
• Conduct factory visits, supplier assessments and onboarding activities.
• Build and maintain a qualified supplier network across manufacturing categories. 2. Technical Sourcing & RFQ Management
• Review engineering drawings, BOMs, material specifications and customer requirements.
• Identify suitable manufacturing processes and suppliers.
• Prepare and manage RFQs, evaluate quotations and develop technical-commercial comparisons.




• Negotiate pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities and other commercial terms. 3. Quality Checks & Factory Inspections
• Visit supplier facilities to assess production progress, process adherence and product quality.
• Conduct routine visual, dimensional, sample, in-process and pre-dispatch inspections using approved specifications and checklists.
• Verify product dimensions, workmanship, material documentation and conformity with customer requirements.
• Use basic inspection instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers and gauges.
• Prepare inspection reports, document deviations and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers.
• Escalate critical quality concerns and specialized inspection requirements to the Supplier Quality Engineer or authorized personnel. 4. Sample Development & Project Execution
• Coordinate prototype development, sample production and manufacturing readiness.
• Track supplier commitments, production milestones and delivery schedules.
• Work closely with quality, logistics and operations teams to ensure timely execution.
• Identify and resolve supplier-related technical, commercial and operational issues. 5. Supplier Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturing partners.
• Monitor supplier responsiveness, pricing competitiveness, quality and delivery performance.
• Maintain accurate sourcing records, supplier profiles and project documentation. Required Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
• 3–6 years of experience in technical sourcing, vendor development, manufacturing or industrial procurement.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, fabrication, casting, forging,



welding and mechanical assemblies.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, tolerances, BOMs and technical specifications.
• Practical understanding of manufacturing quality, inspection procedures and measurement instruments.
• Experience in RFQ management, supplier evaluation, cost comparisons and negotiations.
• Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and technical documentation.
• Willingness to travel to manufacturing locations across India. Preferred
• Experience working with industrial OEMs or export-oriented manufacturers.
• Exposure to supplier inspections, factory audits or manufacturing quality systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and supplier quality documentation.
