Role Description The Assembly Fitter role at Fab Make is a full-time, on-site position based in Bhubaneswar. The Assembly Fitter will assemble and fit structural steel components, machinery parts, and fabricated items according to engineering drawings, specifications, and standard operating procedures. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, measuring and aligning components, using hand and power tools, and performing basic fitting, drilling, grinding, and bolting operations. The role involves coordinating with welders and fabricators, inspecting assembled units for quality and safety, and reporting any defects or deviations.



The Assembly Fitter is also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area, following all safety guidelines, and supporting continuous improvement in fabrication and assembly processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in basic fitting operations, including measuring, marking, drilling, grinding, bolting, and alignment of components.
• Experience working with structural steel, fabricated assemblies, and common hand and power tools used in fabrication and assembly.
• Knowledge of industrial safety practices, use of PPE, and adherence to shop-floor safety standards.
• Basic understanding of welding and fabrication processes to coordinate effectively with welders and fabricators.
• Robust attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and ability to perform visual and dimensional inspections of assemblies.
• Physical ability to handle manual tasks, including lifting, positioning, and securing steel components as per safety norms.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team, follow instructions from supervisors, and meet production deadlines.
• Prior experience as an assembly fitter or in a similar role within steel fabrication or heavy industry is preferred.
• ITI/Diploma in Fitter, Mechanical, or related trade from a recognized institution is an advantage. Skill:
