Role Overview: The Lead Designer will own ARQÉ’s design function, overseeing everything from concept to finished product for the brand’s home décor and artisanal lifestyle collections. With strong embroidery expertise, you will lead the design team and be the founders’ trusted point person for all design work and exhibits, so that the founders can focus on other areas of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own and lead the design function end to end, from concept and development through sampling, production, and final finishing.
• Conceptualise and design home décor and accent collections, including runners, cushions, and accent pieces, in line with ARQÉ’s brand aesthetic and vision.
• Lead embroidery design and development: create embroidery artworks, guide karigars on techniques, stitches, and materials, and approve samples for quality.
• Translate design concepts into detailed specifications for artisans and karigars, ensuring craftsmanship and quality standards are met.
• Lead and mentor the design team, review their work, and ensure design timelines are met.
• Coordinate with the Project Coordinator on timelines, vendors, and production schedules.

• Plan and lead the brand’s exhibits and showcases, from design to on-ground execution.
• Work across Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, and relevant AI design tools to develop concepts and collateral.
• Take day-to-day design decisions independently, and present key concepts to the founders for approval and feedback. REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
• 4 – 6 years of experience, including prior experience leading or mentoring a team.
• Strong hands-on experience in embroidery design and development, including working with karigars and artisans.
• Prior experience in home décor, home textiles, or product design, with a solid portfolio.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, and familiarity with AI design tools.
• Strong sense of aesthetics aligned with luxury, contemporary home décor and craftsmanship-led design.
• Ability to take ownership, make decisions, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable working from the Dadar studio, full-time.
