Job Summary

Sterling Hospitals is looking for a skilled and dedicated Female Endoscopy Technician to support its Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Department.

The candidate will be responsible for assisting doctors during endoscopic procedures, handling endoscopy equipment, maintaining infection control standards and ensuring smooth departmental operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist Gastroenterologists and doctors during endoscopic procedures.
2. Prepare the Endoscopy Room, instruments and equipment before procedures.
3. Handle and maintain endoscopy equipment, including endoscopes, processors, light sources and accessories.
4. Assist during procedures such as Upper GI Endoscopy, Colonoscopy and ERCP.
5. Perform cleaning, disinfection, sterilization and reprocessing of endoscopes as per hospital protocols.
6. Ensure proper handling, storage and maintenance of endoscopy instruments.
7. Follow infection prevention, biomedical waste management and patient safety protocols.
8. Coordinate with nursing staff and doctors to ensure smooth patient flow.
9. Maintain procedure records, equipment checklists and departmental documentation.

Ensure availability of required consumables and accessories in the Endoscopy Unit.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma / B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology or relevant healthcare-related qualification.
- Candidates with relevant Endoscopy Technician training or certification will be preferred.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Practical knowledge of Endoscopy equipment and instruments.
- Understanding of GI Endoscopy and Colonoscopy procedures.
- Knowledge of endoscope cleaning and reprocessing protocols.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a clinical and patient-focused setting.
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety practices.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Female candidates only.
- 1–5 years of relevant experience in a hospital Endoscopy / Gastroenterology Department.
- Hands-on experience in endoscopy procedures will be preferred.
- OT Technicians with relevant Endoscopy exposure may also apply.
- Endoscopy Technician training or certification will be an added advantage.
