Job description

Configure and monitor MongoDB, NoSQL, and Columnar DB instances.

- Automate routine tasks with your own scripts and open-source tools.
- Solve production problems and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
- Improve database backups and test recoverability regularly.
- Research the business needs of our applications and optimize them using MongoDB and NoSQL.
- Maintain database performance and capacity planning.
- Document and collaborate with technology and business organizations.
- Implement appropriate indexes for performance improvement.
- Fine tune the configurations mongo dB and servers for performance improvement.
- Implement optimal backup and recovery.
- Understand and optimize query performance.
- Database Health checks to be created and published to monitoring systems
- Identify slow queries
- Replication lags
- Node Failures
- Index Usage patterns
- CPU Usage
- Memory Usage
- Locks
- No of connections
- And any other params which can be added as part of database health checks.
- - Evaluate, plan and perform the DB Upgrades.
- Maintenance During release / outage etc.
- Implementing best practices for backups,



replication, and health checks.
- Database hardening Implement best practices.
- Design and implement DR Plans HA solutions and recommendations.
- Work closely with Appl team to understand what changes are coming in a build / patch / hotfix, do an impact analysis, finetune the queries if any.

Process Key per-requisite:

- Candidate should be able to work independently in his/her shift without any help.
- 24*7 support, willing to work on rotational shifts.

Additional & Desired Skills:

-Hands-on Experience in Cloud computing skills like Google/AWS/Microsoft AZURE.

-Disaster /Backup Recovery and Business Continuity experience.

-Helping team members in case of Issues/Technical Problems

-Research the business needs of our applications and optimize them using MongoDB

-Interact with the MongoDB community at meetups, conferences, and in online forum.
