Core Role

- Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with domestic and international suppliers for equipment like pumps, membranes, blowers, valves, and filtration systems.
- Supply Chain Planning: Align procurement schedules with engineering and project timelines to avoid delays.
- Vendor Development: Build long-term partnerships with OEMs and expand vendor base for critical categories.
- Cost Optimization: Drive savings through negotiations, value engineering, and alternate vendor development.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to statutory regulations (GST, DGFT, import/export laws) and maintain procurement records.

Key Responsibilities

- Procurement Planning: Engage early in project proposals to identify cost risks and sourcing strategies.
- Contract Management: Negotiate long-term agreements, warranties, and payment terms.
- Logistics & Imports: Handle customs documentation, freight forwarding, and regulatory compliance for imported components.
- Supplier Performance Monitoring: Track delivery schedules, quality, and commercial commitments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:



Work with engineering, project management, quality, and finance teams to ensure smooth execution.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Operations; MBA/PGDM preferred

Experience: 5–20 years depending on role seniority (Manager vs. Head Procurement)

Technical Skills: ERP systems (SAP), category management, supplier benchmarking

Industry Knowledge: Mechanical, electrical, fabrication, filtration, and industrial components.

Soft Skills: Negotiation, vendor relationship management, analytical decision-making

Challenges & Considerations

- Supply Chain Risks: Avoid Delays in SCM or vendor defaults which can stall projects.
- Cost vs. Quality Balance: Must optimize costs without compromising standards.
- Regulatory Complexity: Navigating customs, GST, and environmental compliance
- Sustainability Pressure: Manage Increasing demand for eco-friendly sourcing and reduced carbon footprint.
