Job Description: E-Commerce Accountant

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented E-Commerce Accountant to manage end-to-end financial operations for a fast-growing D2C women’s apparel brand. You will own payment reconciliation across all platforms, maintain accurate books in Tally, and ensure zero revenue leakage.

Key Responsibilities

- Reconcile daily payments from all e-commerce channels — Shopify, GoKwik, Razorpay, COD collections, and any marketplace integrations
- Track and record all inward payments, ensuring amounts match platform settlements within 24 hours of credit
- Maintain petty cash book with daily entries and weekly physical verification
- Record all business expenses with proper categorization, GST input credit tracking, and supporting vouchers
- Manage GST filing preparation — GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, reconciliation with GSTR-2A/2B
- Operate and maintain books on Tally Prime, including ledger entries, journal vouchers, and monthly trial balance
- Work on GeM portal for any government procurement listings and compliance requirements
- Handle Awayco/logistics cost accounting — reconcile shipping charges, RTO costs, and COD remittances against courier invoices




- Prepare weekly MIS reports — revenue, expenses, platform-wise P&L;, outstanding receivables
- Flag discrepancies in settlements, short payments, or unexpected deductions from platforms within 48 hours
- Coordinate with CA for quarterly/annual audit preparation

Required Skills

- Minimum 2 years experience in e-commerce or D2C accounting
- Proficiency in Tally Prime — entries, ledgers, cost centres, GST module
- Hands-on experience with payment gateway reconciliation (Razorpay, PayU, or similar)
- Knowledge of GeM portal operations
- Working knowledge of GST, TDS basics, and e-commerce taxation
- Solid analytical skills — comfortable working with Excel/Google Sheets for reconciliation
- Attention to detail — zero tolerance for unreconciled entries

Good to Have

- Prior experience with Shopify or GoKwik settlement reports
- Understanding of COD, RTO, and reverse logistics accounting
- Familiarity with D2C P&L; structure
