Job Overview

We are seeking a technically skilled, hands-on Machine Operator with a background in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation or Industrial Automation to operate and maintain our automated wedge wire welding machinery.

The ideal candidate should possess practical knowledge of industrial electrical systems, automation, welding processes and engineering drawings, along with the ability to independently operate machinery and troubleshoot basic technical faults.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation & Production

- Operate, set up and monitor automated resistance welding machinery.
- Adjust welding parameters, machine speed, positioning and other process settings.
- Ensure consistent weld quality, dimensional accuracy and production efficiency.
- Maintain daily production records and identify operational abnormalities.

Electrical Systems & Troubleshooting

- Understand and work with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, servo motors, drives and electrical control panels.
- Interpret electrical wiring diagrams and identify faults involving control signals, sensors and welding circuits.




- Perform first-level electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams or external technicians for complex faults.

Welding, Drawings & Quality Control

- Apply knowledge of resistance welding principles, welding parameters and common weld defects.
- Understand TIG welding principles, particularly for stainless steel applications.
- Read and interpret AutoCAD drawings, dimensions, tolerances and manufacturing specifications.
- Prepare or modify basic technical drawings, where required.
- Inspect components using vernier calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.

Preventive Maintenance

- Conduct routine machine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Monitor electrical connections, welding contacts, cooling systems and other critical components.
- Identify potential machine issues early to minimise downtime.
- Maintain basic maintenance records and follow electrical and machine safety procedures.

Educational Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in:

- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Instrumentation / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
- Industrial Automation or Mechatronics (with a strong electrical and control-systems background)

Essential Skills

- Hands-on experience operating or maintaining automated industrial machinery.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, sensors,



control circuits and automation.
- Understanding of resistance welding principles or experience with comparable automated manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
- Robust technical aptitude, problem-solving skills and willingness to work on the production floor.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with automated resistance welding, spot welding, seam welding or wire mesh welding machinery.
- Knowledge or practical experience of TIG welding.
- AutoCAD drafting and drawing modification skills.
- Experience with servo drives, industrial control panels and welding transformers.
- Previous exposure to precision manufacturing or stainless steel fabrication.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hands-on, technically competent individual who can take ownership of machine operations, maintain consistent production quality and systematically identify technical problems.

The candidate should be comfortable working on the shop floor, demonstrate initiative and be willing to learn specialised manufacturing equipment.

Note: Previous experience with wedge wire manufacturing is not mandatory. Machine-specific training will be provided. Selection will be based on practical technical knowledge, machine-operating aptitude and problem-solving ability.
