About The Merc The Merc is a design and development studio working with SaaS startups, fintech companies, and technology businesses across international markets.

We're looking for a curious, proactive SEO & AI Search Growth Intern to help us grow our organic presence on Google and AI-powered search platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini.

This is a hands-on role where you'll work directly with the founder, experiment with growth strategies, and help build our organic acquisition engine from the ground up.

What you'll work on

Research high-intent SEO keywords, competitors, and organic growth opportunities.

Help optimize website pages, metadata, internal links, and on-page content.

Research Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) opportunities.

Help create and optimize service pages, case studies, and SEO-focused content.

Identify relevant directories, publications, and opportunities to earn credible backlinks.

Monitor performance through Google Search Console, GA4, and other SEO tools.

Research how potential clients discover design studios through Google and AI search.

Track organic visibility, website enquiries, and opportunities for improvement.

What we're looking for

Basic understanding of SEO, keyword research, and on-page optimization.





Familiarity with tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, Semrush, or similar.

Robust research, written English, and analytical skills.

Interest in AI-powered search, content marketing, and digital growth.

Ability to learn quickly, take ownership, and execute independently.

Comfortable using AI tools for research and productivity while verifying their output.

Bonus: Experience with Webflow, Framer, technical SEO, or previous SEO projects.

You don't need to be an SEO expert. We care more about curiosity, practical skills, attention to detail, and the willingness to learn.
