You'll take ownership of building robust backend systems using Golang, gRPC, and Kafka , while contributing to full-stack applications using TypeScript and React . Working across distributed teams, you'll influence technical direction, integrate third-party SaaS solutions, and help deliver reliable, scalable systems that support high-impact business features.

The Role

- Backend Architecture & Development: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-traffic, large-scale backend systems using Golang, gRPC, and Kafka , with a strong focus on event-driven architecture, scalability, and reliability.
- Full-Stack Development: Build responsive and maintainable frontend applications using TypeScript and React , ensuring seamless integration between frontend experiences and backend services.
- Event-Driven Systems & Distributed Architecture: Design and implement event-driven systems, ensuring efficient communication between services and reliable processing of high-volume workloads.
- Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps: Work extensively with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and up-to-date CI/CD pipelines such as Buildkite to build, deploy, and maintain scalable infrastructure.
- Performance & System Reliability:



Implement and optimize rate limiting, caching strategies, circuit breakers, and comprehensive observability across logging, tracing, and metrics to maintain system health and performance.
- Data Architecture & Integration: Work across SQL and NoSQL databases, GraphQL, and ETL pipelines, while integrating third-party SaaS solutions into the broader platform architecture.
- Technical Leadership & Collaboration: Own system designs, write technical RFCs, conduct deep code reviews, establish engineering standards, and collaborate with product, design, security, and data teams across distributed time zones.
- AI & Machine Learning Integration: Leverage Python and its broader AI/ML ecosystem to support platform capabilities and explore opportunities to integrate intelligent workflows into production systems.

The "Must-Haves"

- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, scaling, and maintaining high-traffic, large-scale backend systems.
- Deep expertise in Golang, gRPC, and Kafka , particularly within event-driven architectures.
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and React for building full-stack applications.
- Practical experience with Python , particularly its AI and machine learning ecosystem.




- Extensive experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern CI/CD pipelines , ideally Buildkite.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and reliability patterns, including rate limiting, caching, circuit breakers, and observability (logging, tracing, and metrics).
- Solid experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases , as well as GraphQL and ETL pipelines.
- Proven ability to lead architectural decisions, write technical design documents, and take ownership of system health and performance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The "Bonus" Skills

- Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs , such as OpenAI/ChatGPT, into production workflows.
- Familiarity with Ruby, Snowflake, or MongoDB .
- Experience evaluating and integrating complex third-party SaaS applications into enterprise architecture.
- Experience building AI-powered features or incorporating machine learning capabilities into existing platforms.
