Essential Qualification & Experience -

Applicants with following set of essential qualification(s) and mandatory experience can apply for vacancy(ies) through IIT Bombay website only :

Masters degree with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade point average with administrative experience of fifteen years, out of which eight years as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post at Pay Level 12 (78800- 209200) and above or equivalent, and should have demonstrated ability to supervise digitalized administration. The administrative experience at PL 12 and above should include at least four years in Academic / Government/ Semi-Government R&D; Organisation.

Desirable

l Any additional degree or diploma in Management/ Law or a Ph.D. from recognized University/ Institute.

l Candidates should preferably have a first-class (60% or equivalent grade and above) academic record from the 10th standard onwards.

l Proven ability in administration, preferably in a large educational or research institution, financial or personal management with the capacity to lead administration in a residential R&D; institution.

/ Responsibilities -





Registrar is responsible for administration of various wings of IIT Bombay as per policy guidelines framed by the Director and Board of Governors. IIT Bombay is recognised worldwide as a leader in the field of engineering education and research and Institute of Eminence in India. Thus, the Registrar is expected to have positive attitude with problem solving capabilities.

The Registrar is responsible for overall coordination and leading a team of officers from various wings, for better management of administrative, academic, financial, procurement, security and legal matters of the Institute, in conjunction with Institute functionaries. Under the Act, the Registrar is the custodian of records, the common seal and funds of the Institute. The Registrar is ex-officio secretary to the Board of Governors and the Senate.

Therefore, the thorough knowledge of Government rules and regulations, applicable to Indian Higher Education Institutions is desirable.

Compensation range -

Pay Level 14 (144200 - 218200)

The post carries usual allowances at par with those admissible under IIT Bombay rules in the corresponding pay matrix.
