Role Description The Payroll Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. This position is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, including collecting and verifying employee data, calculating wages, overtime, incentives, and deductions, and ensuring timely disbursement of salaries. The role involves managing payroll taxes, statutory compliances, and garnishments, coordinating with finance and HR to maintain accurate records and resolve payroll-related queries.

The Payroll

Specialist will prepare payroll reports, reconcile payroll accounts, support audits,



and recommend process improvements for greater accuracy and efficiency. The role also includes maintaining confidentiality, ensuring compliance with company policies, and providing clear communication to employees about payroll matters.

Qualifications

- Solid skills in payroll processing and payroll administration, with experience handling end-to-end payroll cycles.
- Knowledge of payroll taxes and payroll services, including statutory compliance and tax filing requirements.
- Experience managing garnishments, deductions, and other statutory contributions in line with local regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll software and MS Excel, including data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude, and the ability to maintain accurate and confidential records.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with HR, finance, and operations teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field; prior experience in payroll within construction or industrial sectors is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Indian labor laws, statutory compliances (PF, ESI, gratuity, etc.), and audit support activities.
