Job Profile – Methods engineer (F/M)

Position Summary

Serap India is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Engineer to join our industrial pool team. The role focuses on the industrialization of new products , optimizing manufacturing processes, preparing accurate production-ready documentation , and ensuring efficient resource utilization . The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in design, process engineering, and manufacturing systems, along with hands-on experience in CAD tools and industrial machines.

Key Responsibilities

Product Industrialization : Lead the industrialization of new products from concept to full-scale production, ensuring design for manufacturability and cost efficiency.

Drawings & Documentation :

o Develop and manage 3D & 2D and production-ready drawings .

o Perform nesting of drawings for optimal material usage.

o Prepare detailed manufacturing instructions for shop floor execution.

Bill of Materials (BOM) & Routing :

o Create and manage BOMs with accuracy.

o Define and control routing hours for production processes.

o Configure and maintain industrialization parameters in SAP .

Manufacturing Process Support

o Provide technical support in processes such as metal cutting, bending, forming, fixture and tooling development .

o Collaborate with production to troubleshoot and improve process flow.

o Contribute to fixture/jig design for repeatability and quality.

Industrial Processing & Dairy Domain (Advantageous) :

o Apply knowledge of industrial processing , with added value in dairy industry applications .





Continuous Improvement

o Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality through lean manufacturing and process optimization.

Inter-departmental support o Be the liaison between R&D; and production by getting inputs from R&D; and converting them into production ready outputs and vice versa.

Required Skills & Competencies

· Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 2D/3D design and drafting.

· Strong understanding of industrial machines (laser cutting, bending, forming, welding, etc.).

· Experience with SAP industrialization modules (BOM, routing, work centres, etc.).

· Knowledge of manufacturing processes , fixturing, and tooling.

· Analytical mindset with skills in process optimization and cost reduction .

· Robust documentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field .

· Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in industrialization, manufacturing, or process engineering preferably in fabrication domain

· Experience in dairy/food processing equipment industry (a strong plus).

· Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
